03.5 titanium msp
i also read these comparisons on the forum between spec-vs and srt-4s i was curious as to how the msp holds up against 1.8t jettas and gtis

a friend of mine just bought a 1.8t jetta and i like runnin off at the mouth a little bit i just dont know what im gettin myself into because i dont want to go out and get embarrased by him

stock similar power wise, they handle worse. their interior is nicer (opinion kinda). they respond much better to mods

thats basically all i wanted to know are they heavier or lighter and just how much does the msp weigh i dont feel like walking outside right now lol

i was looking at 2005 gli's they are really nice but i heard they had weak turbos but that was from a unreputable source doesnt the msp weigh like 3700lbs excuse me if im wrong

you should be able to take them if you can drive. those VWs are heavier then the msp believe it or not and make similar power. As long as there not chipped you should be good

MSP's weigh around 2800lbs .Just at tad big off on your numbers lol

drive my buddies newer 1.8T quattro A4 a few times and its slower than you would think. 15.5-8 i thinks, they are heavier than a golf thou. great in the snow too, the msp sucks for traction.

you can beat a 1.8t Jetta, I beat a 1.8T beatle, and my friend runs high 16s in his a4, but with a chip he will ***** you.

This is what I have raced and won. But you have to take into consideration THE DRIVER if they suck at driving or not.

Mustang GT V6 = BEAT
Jetta 1.8T Wolfsburg = BEAT
1.8 Beetle Chipped = BEAT
220HP Eagle Talon = BEAT
1.8T GTI = BEAT

SRT-4 = LOST :*(
WRX = LOST :*(
240HP Tiburon = LOST :*(

I race for fun though even if Im pretty damn sure I will lose. I just like to race. Only on the weekends though.

my g/f has a 05 1.8T jetta and the thing is quick. does not handle as well as the mazda, but in a strait line stock-for-stock i bet they would be pretty close.

the quattro A4 is going to have a lot more driveline loss than the FWD jetta, it'll get off the line faster but not making a terrible amount of power its gonna get down the track slower, so the jetta will be able to reel him back in pretty easy...

1.8t's are not slow, stock for stock they would put up more than a good fight with an MSP, remember we are talking about 15 second cars here, all of them, which are easily driven to 16 second 1/4 miles by sub-standard drivers, so like already mentioned, its a drivers race, you can get off the line fast, get through the gears quick, you'll put up a good race, if not, the other driver (depending on how capable he/she is) will win...

very nice cars though, my grandma's passat has a 1.8t, its an auto and it definitly gets up and goes when you tell it to...
