07 speed3 to 04 sti...

you could not be more wrong. I have done this race with my 06 sti when it was stock and my bro in laws 07 speed3. From a roll I still beat him by 2+ car lengths. I have raced 2 speed 3s and both had the same outcome. Magazine or bench racing is fine, but nothing beats the real thing...
He added an injen cai and motor mount, and I had a catted downpipe and basic tune, and I beat him like a rented mule. I would say easily 3-4 car lengths from a roll. for what its worth the 08 sti in the edmunds video trapped around 102.5 I believe

Lol at this post! I almost spit my drink on the monitor...

and u are a retard lil vicous. my bud has one of the fastest speed 3's in utah and i do pull on her even from a roll

explains why your not on the forums much haha thats good that you are liking the new ride though, i will admit i like the sti's but the drivers are what ruin the car for me, hopefully you dont start wearing emo girl pants,v neck shirts that are a size to small, bob barker slip on shoes and long ass parted hair haha not sure if its like that everywhere but that is the definition of every suby driver in utah county

yeah lol lot of weird people drive sti's ill continue to rock baggy gym shorts or baggy jeans t shirts and a hat. lol dont worry bout that. it is a very fun car =)

its funny you say that, cuz the kid in the youtube video posted in this thread looks like that. I on the other hand do not(thank the lord).I rock the usual plumber garb, consisting of a plumbing shirt and shorts

ok thats good enough for me haha, you need to take me for a ride i never been in a sti cuz well most are stuck up asshat's that dont talk to you if your not one of them

Yes I'm a retard because the guy on the internet say's so. Good way to win you're argument back with an insult......Did i hurt you're vag....(fuoops)

Go chase PARKED cars or something

I know, the truth hurts (fight)
It must really bother you to know that your speed6 is slower than the speed3 too...probably shootin your drink out your nose lol

A speed 3 faster from a roll? vs ME......(lol) Bro i'll eat a Speed3 from a dig, from a roll idk.... My friend's 06 6spd Rev-up 350Z can't even pull me from a 40roll up to about 120. I hold him off by half a car length.

He has Intake, Exhaust, Test pipe, Plenum spacer, Headers and a tune. My mod's are in my sig.

sti is a better platform, but the tools over at nasioc like to argue alot. clubwrx is way better

lol.....They know they're s*** over there, what you're upset because they like to rain on everyone's parade..

You do know a STI is a wasted of money right. The regular WRX is a lot better, This has been discussed over and over(stooges)

You're not comprehending what were talking about here. Of course the AWD gives the STi and advantage. You really want to compare numbers. Ok I'll break it down for you

A STi has 300hp vs the MS3's 263hp (flywheel)hp

STi weighs about 3298lbs AWD usually loses about a 22% drivetrain loss.

300 x .22%=66
300 - 66=234awhp
3298/234awhp= 14.09lbs per Hp

MS3 weighs 3150lbs FWD usually loses about a 15% drivetrain loss
263 x .15%= 39.45
263 - 39.45=223.55whp
3150/223.55whp= 14.09lbs per hp

You can clearly see the difference between the two, which is nothing as terms as hp pound for pound. Now I'm not debating the STi is faster from a dig because it is, it has 37more hp and AWD.

From a roll the STi will lose (Stock vs Stock). This is the My argument!

The only comprehension lost here is reading my friend. Go back and re-read my first paragraph. I support your "argument" regarding the MS3 being faster from a roll.

However that said- I still feel the STi is "faster" due the the sum of these bullet points:
- racing from a dig= STi (awd traction advantage)
- racing from a roll stock vs stock= MS3 (less paracidic loss to drivetrain= more usable hp at highway speeds)
- road/course racing stock vs stock= STi (awd>fwd for this, excellent exit speeds)

Modify both of them and you'll get:
- racing from a dig= STi (still)
- racing from a roll modified vs modified= STi (more mods available and more effective tuning- I've seen plenty of "mildly" modified STi's trapping over 114 at the track- no MS3s, in fact the ABSOLUTE fastest ET MS3 on dragtimes is trapping 106.
- road/course racing modified vs modified= STi again

I'm not downing the MS3. It's a great car and a wonderful bargain at it's price. The STi is just more car (not better bargain). Tuning yields drastic improvements and the AWD setup future-proofs additional power as you build it. The MS3 is crippled by FWD even in stock form. Try putting another 100hp on it- it'll make an incredible hwy racer...but that's about it. I simply can't UTILIZE power with it's given drive-train.
- road/cource racing

new ones do 13.5

Yeah supposedly the WRXs are faster right now stock for stock. Amazing. However I do feel the beefed up tranny, etc on the STi is a plus.

If I was shopping today for one I'd still be looking for a deal on the STi rather than WRX. The WRX hurt the STi sales thus allowing their astronomical prices to settle a bit. 40k w/ BBS/nav is outrageous. I bought my 05 STi with a factory SS kit and boost gauge for 33k. Not to mention it had forged BBS stock- not with a pricey add-on.

Once again, were not talking about Autocross/Drifting/ or 1/4mile times here. Were talking about from a ROLL I highlighted it for you, From a ROLL. Capiche?

My argument was the MS3 losing to a stock STi from a ROLL. And It won't!

out of curiousity have you or anyone you know ever done this race? I base my opinions on my experiences not just magazine or bench racing. It is hard to find a video of these two cars racing stock for stock from a roll, which is why I posted the video earlier in this thread. It was the closest one I could find. I have given my experiences and posted a decent video too....so I am done here if the other side has nothing to show other than numbers on a paper saying this is what should or could happen...best of luck to everyone

Lol....You're a funny guy! were not bench racing here, or showing what someones other car can do. Yes this race has happened already, it's just like when the SRT4 came out. It beat the Evo and STi from a roll stock vs stock due to hp pound for pound. I think you need to educate you're self instead of posting random vids of other peoples cars.

Let me break it down again for you.

If i run a 11.4@109mph which something would probably be wrong with my car, but this is just an example.

An you run 13.4@112mph.

Guess what, I win the 1/4mile. But if we were to run from a roll. Since you're trap speed is 3mph higher than mine. You would own me in any roll race! Regardless me being 2sec faster in the 1/4mile Do you understand that, or are you having a problem comprehending. Reason being is because your speed is building faster than mine, Yet i get traction you don't. Thus me being able to run quicker times than you.

This is the same argument via the STi vs MS3. They trap identical and the fact the MS3 is lighter and Hp pound for pound is the same. The MS3 will win or be a evenly matched race from a roll with the STi.

I don't get what you don't understand.....Feels like I'm repeating myself over and over. It's like I'm telling you one thing in one ear and it's going out the other
