What have you done to your Miata today?

Spent $520 reconditioning all four 2019 Miata Club wheels.

Any thoughts on whether or not to add splash guards? Trying to balance paint protection vs aerodynamics. Wondering if it is worth the additional $370. My '25 ND is on order and I am debating whether or not to have these added.

First off, congrats and welcome to ND Mazda Miata Splash Guards 2016-2024 your new addiction!

As for the splash guards, I'd recommend the MegaChip USA guards.

They are a fraction of the cost of OEM yet work well and look good doing it. A lot of others have opted for the appearance package set even if they don't have the appearance package as the rears are a little bigger.

A couple of pics of the standard set on my 2016

Dropped her off last night at the collision center to get a new bumper and CM Spyder Grille installed. A couple of weeks ago, a gentleman backed into me in a parking lot. He was very apologetic stating that he couldn't see me as he put his truck in reverse to back up so he could pull into a parking space he had passed. He asked to keep insurance out of it, I was skeptical, but within a matter of days I got a call from the collision center that he paid the price in full and parts were ordered. He sent a cashiers check to cover the cost of the new aftermarket grille which I ordered from GWR. Hoping to pick her up Wednesday or Thursday so I can get her cleaned up and prepped for Miata Day on July 13th.

There are good people out there.

Also this is why I stay away from today's pickup trucks on the road. If you're driving on their passenger side, it's likely they cannot see you at all. They could change lanes right into you.

I'm glad to hear that this worked out for you!

Years ago, I had the opposite experience. I had someone T-bone my car at an intersection, their fault. The guy practically begged me not to involve the police and swore up and down that he would pay for the damage and make it right. I let him talk me into it and got shafted/screwed over.

Never again.

Yes, this helped to restore my faith in humanity! My wife thought I was crazy for not filing a police report but I got a good vibe from talking with him over the course of 10 minutes. He promptly pulled out his drivers license for me to take a pic as he did with mine plus it had Government plates (forgot to mention that in my post above). I'm pretty confident that this is why he didn't want to involve insurance but I was still surprised that he didn't balk at the initial quote and ask me to get another. He told me to contact the dealer collision center, which I did and they came back at just shy of $2500 for the bumper and paint with misc. fasteners and $259 for the grille.

You and me both! lol

Yikes, that sux and admittedly I was wondering if I had made a mistake. What eased my anxiety was that I had a pic of his license and the plate of the truck. So, while a headache I'm sure I would have been made whole....eventually. We all know how 'fast' the Government works.

Why are people like that? Just own it and learn from your mistakes. Instead they have to try to con/weasel their way out of any consequences. It's infuriating and sad.

That's an age-old question for sure! When one looks at the way some people act, it's almost as if they're from another planet sometimes.
