ill bet its still typical chevy pos

yeah, I'm kinda in that boat with you. The specs and what-not all look good but GM will have to do a LOT of proving themselves before I'd buy. I'll need the motoring press to drool on it like they did the SRT-4 before I give it a look.

if only a srt-4 looked more like that, instead of a hooker with a plug in her ass.

It almost looks like an RSX....

We'll see what happens when they start showing up on the streets, if they prove to be typical cavy quality, or something new and better.

the fact that you can make a cavalier fast has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the car. its still a piece of s***.

and by the way, im sure its much more affordable to make a cavalier that fast than it would be to make a protege5 that fast

I'm a Mazda fan, however Mazda is owned by Ford! You don't have much ground to stand on when it comes to quality. That piece of s*** Cavi uses, Sabb, Opel and Chevy parts all of which are better quality then Ford products. Don't knock things you don't know about. Try and keep an open mind instead of trash talking.. The reason it's more affordable to make a Cavi faster then the PR5 is because the Ecotec is capable of supporting up to 600hp on the stock bottom end, so you don't need to replace weak rods and pistons to build up some real power. It also comes with a Getrag five-speed manual transmission which is also built for BMW. How would quality not be a factor here? Can you say the same for you 2.0 626/pr5/Protege engineand trans? I loved my Speed, PR5 and Protege ES, but there are other cars out there that deserve a little respect too. You're talking to a guy who has open mindedlly owned over 50 cars, so so don't knock it till you try it. Do al little reaserch on the 03 + Cavi so at least you know what your talking about, then get back to me...

GM definitely seems to be the first company that is really focusing (pun not intended) its compact car styling to appeal to those who have bought Japanese cars. I've got nothing against the Focus or Neon, but they still look like American compacts (even if the Focus was developed in Europe). With the Redline and Cobalt, love them or hate them, it's obvious who they are trying to take on.

I DO KNOW! cavaliers had horrible quality. ford may own the majority of mazda but the japanese build quality and engineering is still there

The Proteges are still mostly Mazda, but the new 6 v6 is a ford engine, the tribute is an escape, the b3000 is a Ranger, the MPV has a ford engine too.

The new 3 has the 2.3 engine that is built in Mexico, How does that = quality. Most of VW's problems came when they started to build in Mexico.

FYI, Cavilers ware the Toyota badge in Japan. I don't think toyota would put ther name on a poor quality car.

Funny how Mazda puts there Name on Ford built products, & Toyota, Sabb, Opel, & Isuzu put there Badges in Chevy built products.

Whatever this is going no where, there is a saying that goes; " When the student is ready, the teached will apear and only then will a student be ready to learn." If you don't want to drink, I won't force you to.. Good discusion.
