Help!!! new!

now i'm slightly confused, how does the car run w/o piping hooked up? or is he saying that they just put in a piece of straight pipe in the front air dam where the IC would be?

It runs reallt insane, boost builds awesome, everything seems fine.. the car is never overheating.. What's going on?

so you have no FMIC?

the piping is just going across the front bumper and then into your intake mani?

also the pipe that is connected right to the turbo has a nipple on there, i think thats where the guy might of had is BOV hooked up at or he used that for the by pass valve.

When you shift do you get a fluttering sound?

can you take a pic of the engine bay straight down from the front(standing in front of emblem? So we can see if you have some type of BPV or BOV

well even w/o a intercooler (don't know why) He is still relieving a little of the hot air w/10 feet of piping

I'm guessing there's some heatsoak all right, but thats not what worries me. With no BOV or BPV there is no release of boost pressure. The only place it could go would be back through the turbo. I'm amazed that he hasn't blown the pipes apart at the couplers. I'm guessing the nipple thats capped on the pipe was fitted with a set up like the Forge: clicky>http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0006&product=FMDVMSP01
I'd prolly put something like that back on there quickly and be measuring the space between the couplers under the front bumper for a new fmic tank. Once I had a working intercooler and a blowoff valve I'd feel more comfortable driving the car while deciding how I really wanted to mod the car going forward. The other possibility would be to run a silicone hose from that nipple to a Forge BPV or Boost Sciences RDV and then run a silicone hose off the bpv to a nipple on the intake. Thats the safe way, without having to worry about relocating the maf, although he'd prolly still have a serious turkey issue.

guys.. There's forsure NO FMIC, just the piping going across the bumper.. but it runs fine, when i bought it i asked what the car was used for and not to mention he was like 45 and he said his wife drove from miami to fortlauderdale with no problems.. i dont get it.. also.. im curious here, but if i buy a bov where do i weld it on the pipe? or where would be best.? No bpv.. just as you can see one vac line going straight to the waistgate, what do i do when i weld on the bov? do i take the bov off the waistegate and attach to bov? And also be more quick here guys! please! :0

don't get a blow off valve get a BPV i'll attach a pic, but instead of venting to the atmosphere you dump it back into the intake right before the turbo.
who ever you bought lied to you, they went through some extensive work to put that set up on.

I wouldnt get that intercooler i mean sure its better than nothing but thats a tube and fin which is not as good as the bar and plate design. The vacuum line that comes off the wastegate doesnt necessarily have to have the bpv vacuum line hooked up to the wastegate line. The person before you could have used a different source of vacuum but its easy to see if you have a bpv or bov just see if they are anywhere on the intercooler pipes but from what you have said ab the flutterin sound he may have took that off to just like the intercooler and if you do get a bov put it on the intercooler pipe that hookes to the throttle body but the only problem you have with putting on a bov is if you dont relocate the maf to after the bov then the car will want to die when putting it in neutral going down the road and hesitate a little on acceleration and run rich for a second after shifting but if you relocate the maf then no worries.

I've been on the phone with him for over a hour. He does not have a BOV or a BPV. His injen intake tube for boost recirculation was just left open by previous owner. He is ordering a forge BPV in the morning and is running a hose from capped nipple on hot tube to BPV and into the injen intake.

Sean is the man and the coolest guy in the world.. Sean- I'll call you and take pics when everything is good to go.. Or if I run into any problems..

Christian, I hope you mean Ryan is the coolest guy in the world.
And yes that intercooler that you had the link to may not be the best, but it is better than not having one at all, and for $80 it is a good start. Not to mention i'll buy that BOV that came with it.
