Hello everyone! I'm new here, I just bought a Msp..

It has 83,000 miles on it..

I'm new to this all!

I have a few questions..

1. The vacum line coming from my intake manifold is going to what looks like the waistegate.. bolted on to the stock turbo.. The previous owner put an injen cai, and all hard pipes.. But no upgraded fmic. Why!? and theres also a tube coming from the engine on the left side that looks like it goes into the intake? ill post pic.. i also have a very bad turbo flutter coming from the intake.. How do I get rid of this? please help! Also theres no bpv.

2. Also, what bov fits our msps?

3. do we need specific gauges for the msps? or turbo timers?

I'm new so any advice would be great! thanks! -Christian

no fmic? are you sure? cause the piping is not connected to the stock smic in your pic. can you post a pic from the front? it will be easier to know whats goin on.

watch there be no intercooler at all LOL

and another one with no turbo. if you look closely you can see the inlet location for the smic. and the piping isnt runnin through there so to me it looks like its fmic piping. you can run any bov as long as u get the flange, any turbo timer, or any guage. they fit any car.

i would recommend getting an oil pressure guage, boost and a wideband. as for the turbo timer id use that money to fix any problems with the car if there are any and just let it idle for 30 seconds before u turn it off. as for the flutter thats called the turkey. lol heres a fix for it http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40956

wait...u have no bypass valve?

uhhh....id you have no bpv i would not go into boost....like at all. take a pic with the bumper off or something off the front. we never had a stock fmic. we have a side mount intercooler.

check out my thread, i have a few install pics of how my FMIC goes, but urs is def. different.

as far as a turbo timer..... we have oil fed and coolant fed turbos. A turbo timer isnt really needed.

but welcome to the boards if you ever find your way in orlando let me know.

also here is the other fmic piping

I live in West Palm Beach..

The stock intercooler is right next to the radiator? to the right? because my piping is going to that.. and where is the waistegate located?

wastegate is located on the turbo. There is a wastegate actuator that looks like a UFO with a Nipple, and a rod that runs from the ass end of it to the exhaust(hot side) of the turbo and connects to a flapper. You need a pic and I don't have one.....sorry

Here is a pic of my forge w.g.a

Hey you guys... As I was looking around in my engine.. I found that the hard pipes for the intercooler are not connected to anything!! Rather just going along the front bumper.. I'm freaked out I'll post pics after I get out of my gfs graduation.. But the vac line is going from the intake mani straight to the waistegate... Also I am going to buy an hks ssqv black edition bov, can I just take the cold pipe make the circle cut the weld it on? Or do I have to buy a "flange"!? Thanks guys for your help <3

Sounds to me like you're putting the cart before the horse... If you have hardpipes running to nothing there is no point in getting a new BOV yet. You need to figure out whether you plan to install a new fmic to connect to those pipes or whether you plan to use a smic which would require re-routing the pipes, etc.

now i'm slightly confused, how does the car run w/o piping hooked up? or is he saying that they just put in a piece of straight pipe in the front air dam where the IC would be?

heres some pics!!
