Lowering Advice

My suspension is currently stock. I've been brainstorming lowering options. Right now I'm thinking H&R Springs (1.3 in. drop) with KYB HP dampers. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or opinions on this setup, or if anyone has experience with this combination. I want to go mild on the lowering and give the car a level stance. My main concern is whether the KYB HP's are the proper dampening for the H&R's.

Please don't. K-sports are... not the best. Save and get a set of BC Racing coilovers. They're ten times better for the money.

Poor quality. And I've heard that their customer service is a headache to work with when it comes to repairs. With coilovers, I say go for more quality products.

Sure, K-Sports are $800, but they're a heap of s*** for that price, at least from what I've heard. The BC's are great pieces for the price and I've never heard a complaint from anyone in the P5 community that has used them. I plan on getting a set down the road when I can front the cash for them.

K-Sport uses a new company for their seals now and ever since, there haven't been problems with them blowing out. This was the original problem which seems to have been fixed. That being said, I'm getting the BC's eventually for next year. Just letting you know that there seem to be no more big issues with the KSports.

Hmm, yeah both companies seem to have good reviews. It will be another year before I do anything. I want adjustable. I tend to really use my P5 for all sorts of stuff. So from taking windy switchbacks in my summer Nittos on 17's to climbing icy snowy mountain roads to my cabin with luggage and a bike in the back. I have a set of Michelin X ices on my stock rims. So I want the low stance in the summer, but stock height and some suspension articulation in the winter. The car really begs to be lowered though.

P-5's rock. This car does everything well. They have to be one of the best all around cars ever built for the driver and the mechanic.

I want adjustable.

Yeah, but you don't want to buy crappy equipment and be stuck kicking yourself for it. I don;t know how much better K-sports have gotten, but I wouldn't risk it. Save up an extra couple hundred bucks and get BC's. You can't go wrong. Just don't ride around town with the dampers on full stiff... then you might have problems. But that goes with any set of adjustable dampers.
