yea it's manual...whenver you see a g37 with the red "s" it stands for the sport package, which is a 6speed manual.
im not sure about the 0-60 times for the infiniti, but the 370z has gotten times of 4.7. the difference in weight is about 300lbs, so my guess is the g37 might be able to hit 60 right around 5 even
i haven't driven his car yet (it only has 30 miles on it so it shouldn't be driven hard for a little bit anyway). and the 335s are only 35 more hp than the ms3, but the g37 is over 65 more hp than the ms3.
he will let me drive it in the near future, and im sure im gonna have to be the one to fill him in on technology. the car comes with a hard drive for music and he has no clue, the NAV is different from his charger's NAV so i'll school him on that, and various other tidbits

LOL...you posted in a MS3 section. Bound to happen. Don't mind them here. Congrats for your dad. Hope you get to enjoy it with him.
You're just upset coz I beat you to it!
I'm just poking fun. I just find it odd that someone would consider it strange for a bunch of car enthusiasts on a public forum to bench race.
Come on - that's just what we do!
No, not close.
It would be like you were standing still.
sick car for sure!
if you ever go shopping, you can insist that you put the bags in your roomy trunk. lol
So why would a MS3 with the mods in question be so much slower than an 335i? That has not been my experience, on the highway or in "magazine" or "bench" racing.
Compare the attached acceleration curve on the 335i, (courtesy of Road and Track) especially from 60-100 mph or higher, but just about anywhere above 30 mph (we do have our launch problems), with the attached accelerometer run on my lightly modded MS3.
Perhaps this explains why I have had no problem (with modest mods) pulling away from 335i's at highway speeds, and probably could give one a very serious run for the money even from a dig. Apologies for poor res graphics. Will try to post a clearer one later.
Yeah you have a good point.Who cares if the new G37 is a tad faster then our cars! The local dealership in Orlando has them for $41-$45K, I paid $20K less for my Speed3. Same thing with a 335i, that's a $45-$50K car. I think everyone who's got a Speed3 should be pretty happy of how fast and capable our cars are. It's affordable speed with pretty decent styling. Who else can offer that, Cobalt or a Neon? No thanks. Look at Cobalt SS, cost as much as our cars, but they suck so bad. My buddy's got one, the day he drove it of the lot the suspension made a s*** load of noise, no independent rear suspension, can't put your spare on the front two tires...
But anyways, we are comparing G37 to a Speed3. $20K difference in price, but pretty much same speed, minus nice luxury bits. Drop that extra $20K into our cars and you'll have hard time seeing G37 in your rear view mirror.
all i can really say now is "can your passengers get out the back without you getting out first?"
