Rear Sway Bar CLUNK

Mazda Protege LX 2003
I have a 03 Protege lx and I recently installed Eibach Sportlines and Tokico Blues with the Progress 22mm rear sway bar and AWR endlinks. Whenever I go over bumps my sway bar hits one of the lateral links making a clunk noise. I am wondering if I need longer endlinks because it does not seem like the way I have the sway bar set up now has enough space to travel. I'll post some pictures soon.

Here are the pics. I sure am thankful for all the salt they laid down on the roads here in IN. I think I just need longer endlinks, so I can connect the sway bar below the lateral links. Let me know if anybody has any suggestions.

can the endlinks be shortened up any? did AWR send you the wrong size? the MP3 and Mazdaspeed have a different length on the rear sway bar links

look around in the group buy section for the Clunk Fix bracket. that should fix it right up. im not exactly sure what causes the clunk. ive heard of things like the bushings wearing out cause they are the wrong size on the sway bar and they mushroom so its metal on metal. but then you posted those pics.

look for the clunk fix bracket, head it works well.

I don't know about the clunk but your endlinks are to short...the proper position is like this.

**Edit! And you got them on wrong...they should be mounted to the other side of the strut!!! Look at my second and third picture closely.

your sway bar is not making the noise, the springs are
you need to get spring coil wraps in order to fix this

Did you notice he's got the endlinks hook up on the wrong side though...it's clearly hitting the cross member no? He needs to put the endlinks on other side and also switch the bolt direction as well, the nut facing the wheels....or is it just me?

Yes, it is on the wrong side, but why is your strut bar between the cross members and not above them? Is it because of the brackets?

yeah it's installed backwards but I can't really see any signs of it hitting anything

I guess I should mentioned that I have the delsing "klunk fix" bracket which puts my bar lower and between. My bar is mounted more outwards(closer to wheels) which makes the bar even stiffer...a delsing design.

My picture was to show the "proper way" according to the experts(Delsing)...to have the angle of a sway bar parallel to the ground. To short, the ends point up and to long it points down.

To get the ends parallel or to know how long you need when the car is off the ground....the ends will be facing straight down almost. The car sits and bingo the ends come up and go parallel to the ground. Ya It didn't makes sense to me at first.

But then I noticed he has his endlinks hooked up on the wrong side. The bolts he's using seem to long, or the kit should came with spacers to slide on the other end of bolts to even things out. I think the bolt is hitting the cross member maybe. Either way those bolts should be facing the other direction and I hope the bolt won't hit the trailing link once everything is hooked up right and he gets longer endlinks.

Bla bla bla sorry!
