Picked it up this morning and after that I just don't know where the day went as I was just enjoying the car. Only problem was it rained all day so I couldn't get any good pictures but I did say I'd get some so here's a couple but they are a bit dull because of the weather.

KOA - that is exactly the car I wanted when I bought my 5. In Canada we weren't given the option of Sunlight Silver, nor roof rails, so I am extremely jealous. :)

That's exactly the car that I have (minus the rails, thankfully ). THat's not Sunlight Silver, that's Platinum Silver as it's called here in Canada!

The UK gets a Stellar Silver and a Sunlight Silver. I wonder which one is the same as N.A.'s Platinum Silver. Wish we had the roof rails, though.

Stellar silver is the green silver that you get over there, that's a colour that's limited to the Forano model over here as is the slotted grill bumper that you have over there.

I thought the platinum silver had a creamy background to it, like a yellowish silver, whereas the sunlight silver is very pale silver with no hint of any other colour in it other than the metalic flakes.

I really wanted the clear lights at first but after a while my mind changed and I do prefer the red ones now, it's a good isn't it :D
The clear lights are available as an option and they do look good but over here "lexus lights" as they are refered to are usually found on boy racers cars and are getting overly popular.

I am not too fond over the silver offered on the 5. However, I really do like the silver thats on the mazda 3. If they put that on the 5, then that would be my first choice.
As an aside, I now see my official first mazda 5, in my neighborhood. It is parked at night on the street. It is black, (not sure if touring or sport, but has the side sills trim on bottom), its windows are all tinted dark black, and I guess this person will be collecting a bunch of tickets.
Also, please give the car a wash. With all the mud, and dry mud on it, the paint job looks 10 years old, it deserves at least going through the car wash.

Stay safe

Congrats! Love the photo with your "name" emblazoned on the wall! And love those roof rails, too: why didn't they provide those for the US?????

You are correct, Koa. My Platinum Silver 5 has some gold tones in the flakes.

Thankyou and the rest of you for your replies :)

I really like the platinum silver and I wish it was an option here so I suppose it works both ways, we can't have it all eh but I am over the moon with my 5 so far. Being without a car for so long has really made me appreciate this one so we have been going out every day just for the sake of it.

I haven't wanted to really push it yet so have been keeping the revs under 4k so I can't wait till it's run in.

Here's another couple of pictures I took yesterday, the first dry day we have had for a long time so I gave the car a clean.

interesting...i thought UK cars had metric as the primary measurement in the speedometer. Does the UK still measure speed in "miles per hour"?

Yes it sure does, thankfully. Although the trip on the 5 measures the fuel in litres I believe, which is a bit confusing to me as I have always measured it in gallons.

Koa, are you still planning to drop the 5?
Yes, but the dealers can't get hold of the springs till march/april so I have to make do with a photoshopped drop (eyeballs) until then :D

I wanted to see what it would look like with just a 25mm drop and I think it's just right, I measured a reference point on the car and then converted that to photoshop to get the exact drop, but I edited the original image so I had to upload that, I should have said before to avoid confusion.(peep)

Thanks guys (cheers2)

The Antena was just an impulse buy from a local motabitz store, I needed one on the car before I could bring it home because it wouldn't fit in the car port with the standard one so I grabbed the first one that looked ok, I am quite pleased with it for 6.
