Cabin Noise!!!

Basically the cabin noise is getting pretty bad in my car. After I installed the OBX header, it just got worse. I'm working on getting all of the engine and exhaust mounts, so that wont be an issue. I was just wondering if anyone has used anything less expensive and just as productive as dynamat to insulate their vehicle, not just for road noise but for the two 15" subs I have in the back as well. At the same time though, I would like to know if anyone has dynamat installed, because if it works like a charm I wont even care about forking some money out. It's funny because I like to save my money, but when it comes to my car I don't have a budget lol.

Wellm the header will add to the noise. If you have a cheap exhaust, that will do it too. I heard a guy used jute to insulate his floor on this p5. He got it at an interior shop.

Otherwise, dynamat is the way to go.

definantly use the MAT for killing rattles -- i used dynamat but that was before i did my reading, but i also got a kill deal -- stores sold it for $250 a box and i got it for about $100 and it took four boxes.

it did its job very well for killing rattles -- it did help with road noise too. before, if i had a passanger, i felt like i had to speak up to talk. now its suttle and nice.

But since you have exhaust drone -- you will NEED to add the Ensolite on top of the MAT to help with that --- its a long job but 1000x worth it.

i dont explain things well sometimes, so if you have any questions, just ask

Billy

I have a good feeling he has a fart tip... so nothing will get rid of the annoyance except getting a QUIET muffler

Thanks for the info. I think I will go with dynamat because I can get a pretty good deal on it too. My exhaust though is still stock, the only exhaust modification I have, SO FAR, is the header itself. Thanks for the help people.

Cool deal then. Let us know how it goes! If you end up looking for an exhaust, the Racing Beat cat-back is the best way to go. No droning. I know Street Unit has them for $403 shipped, however, I am going back to stock in preparation for trading in at the dealer for a new toy.

That said, I will have my Racing Beat up for sale after the 23rd (when I have a guy trading me his stock header for my Ractive. If interested, I wil be asking $200 + shipping for it. It is in great shape, and I have pretty new gaskets on it. I will post up proper pics, etc when it comes time, but simply PM me if interested.

is it regular dynamat or the dynamat extreme?? If its not the extreme, then dont even bother --- i really recommend using the RAAMmat BXT -- its the same at the Extreme but you get more per roll -- if your set on dynamat, then make sure its the extreme ---

Liquid deadeners

I have read that the liquid deadeners can be very effective - and i think you get more square footage per dollar (depending on how thick you lay it on). I personally don't have any experience with them, but I plan on getting some soon. Examples: QuietCar, Second Skin Spectrum Sludge (or spray), eDead v3, Lizard Skin ($$$)...

The first three are about $50/gallon...don't even look at Lizard Skin.
