high spiking boost

You need engine management. Piggyback or standalone depending on your goals for the car.

Yes you need some form of ems(engine management system) to tune the car, you also need a wb02(wideband 02) in order to accuratley see what your a/f ratio is. A a/f guage is a bunch of worthless lights that move around, without a number you dont actually know how rich or lean you are. So if I were you, I would take the mbc out. Unless you want to learn the hardway.

LOL, go find a new shop, a tuned car is less likely to blow than a untuned one? HAHAHAHAHA

No, when tuned improperly they will blow, but same goes for every single car. But yes by nature a msp does have a weak motor, with a tune you will be making more power which equals more stress on the internals of the motor. That is why some people blow even when tuned correctly.

you guy's are ridiculous i've heard sinc i got my car about blah this and that about our car's going boom. I'm in discreet's boat i've been running 15lbs for 2 years now and my air fuel is perfect on my wideband. So therefore i am not going boom and by the way i've held 20 before for some passes at the track still no boom so why don't you all learn to tune a car before you tell everyone they are gonna blow it up.

You may end up with this kind of look on your face eventually...lol

the machanic at mazda told me its safe up to 9psi

You will learn not to take advice from techs at mazda. You will find all the right answers here at the boards. I suggest you search " I blew my motor" and read a number of reasons why people blow there motors. Stock boost, 7psi, 8psi, it all comes to the people that blew there motors as a surprise.
