Chollie, you're my hero. I'll go try that. Is the manual online somewhere, or did you scan that?

Wayne: What swaybar install in Athens? Ben's ITR, or someone else?

Also, yeah, I probably should have retracted the piston first. I'll try that next.

Thanks, guys! I just doesn't get better than having instant access to useful, smart people. I'll buy you each a beer sometime!
(cheers)

Yeah, Ben's ITR. You won't need a press to get out the old stud, just hit it with a hammer, but watch out for it WILL go flying! You will need an impact gun to draw in the new stud though. Washers and a "sacrificial nut" will get the job done, just make sure you stop once it seats.

Beer is good mmmkay.....

we could all have beer together at the bowling alley saturday night?

speaking of, time to have a few relaxing shots!

I'd offer to drive, but u'd either all have to fit in 1 passenger seat, or cram urselves in w/ the tires / tools / all the other random s*** I don't even realize I have until I start packin for auto-x

Well, the brake job is done! :D I figured out what I was doing wrong, and everything happened much more quickly after that!

I still couldn't get the stud in! (bang) I'll have to limp to a shop that can do it for me tomorrow. I am going to just have all new studs put on on that side while they've got the hub off.

It is so nice to have a garage to work in, but I miss having access to a lift. Sitting on the floor and working on jackstands just sucks!

What's the problem with the stud? Could you not draw it into the hub or could you even get it into the hub at all?

he's on a 4 lug, so he probably can't get to the back like on a 5 lug

Is any1 taking a car that they won't be driving? I may need somewhere to temporarily store all of my schwag during the race....u know, that pile of crap that was in front of my car last time...

EDIT: Does some1 have a "1" I can borrow? I've got a codriver this weekend

I can't even get it into the hub. There's no room to angle a full stud in. I had no trouble getting the busted one out, but then, it was only about half as long!

I found several posts where people explained how they got theirs in, but all of them were on 5-lug cars. I think the plate they mount in to is just smaller on the 4-luggers.

Oh, well, off to autozone for more studs, then to the shop to have them put in.

I'm bringing a tarp tent... feel free to store your stuff there.
I have "race tape"(you know, +10whp) if you want to use it for your "1".. it'll leave no adhesive..

Ok, the car is set. I'm working set-up, runnning first heat, and going home. I'd love to stay all day, catch a dozen rides in other people's cars, and throw down a ton of fun runs, but that's not in the cards, so I'll take what I can get. Hell, back home, autocross season ended a month or more ago, so this is all a bonus!

I need to swap the track tires on today, and clean out the car. I need to get all my stuff 100% ready to go tonight, 'cause I've got to roll out of here by 6:15 at the latest tomorrow. It's also going to be pretty cold tomorrow when I head out, and may or may not be raining, so I need to get my cold/wet/nasty weather gear out.

I'm so glad to have the car back together! :D

Glad your car is back together...it should only take you about 45 min. to get there. Registration opens at 8, so you could roll in at about 7:45, unload, check-in......that gives you another 45min of sleep.

Nah, no sleep for me, I'm working set-up, so I need to be there at 7. It wouldn't be my first choice, but it allows me to run first heat and roll out to scoop up the kid from the neighbor's house, keeping Dru on task with her studying.

Nice chris bringing shelter for the pit crew (thumb)

Awsome job today guys. I'm glad you all could make it out. Wayne, where were you?

The weather turned out to be great - 70's with a rather dry course. I was expecting the worst.

And just FYI, Luke beat me in his own car by a bit over a second.

And luke managed to spin my car....blamed my tires...whatever ;). We swapped cars, and Luke's car's pretty fun lol. Almost as much fun as riding in that SM STi. Now, if I can con some1 in to letting me get a drive in it (shady).

EDIT:
If it makes u feel better Luke, I had problems with that corner all day...I only got 2 good runs through it (the last 2 fun runs...). I just couldn't get the car on the right line at the right speed. I also went through that section (corner 0) just about sideways...ur car's really easy to control in a slide, but then again, I'd never driven it b4, and I wasn't pushing it at 10/10ths...
