Hi I'm new

only mods so far are the speakers.
It's canadian so some things are different than american (block heater, seat belts, etc).
1.8l sohc, 5- speed, moonroof, you know, the works (no a/c,pwr windows or locks, though).
paint is starting to peel on roof and hubcaps, prob. get new paint and wheels by this summer.
I also have a trans am(01) and suburban(99)... this car is by far the best.
looking for good mods for handling. seems to plow through turns, have to pull e-brake to drift. I know it's front wheel drive but the rear end won't budge no matter what.
I'm all for power, but have you seen the price of gas?

You imported a Canadian 1st gen?! Score...well, atleast you have manual seat belts huh. :)

With better tires it won't plow. Mine doesn't plow, well it understeers until I let off the gas(normal for any FWD car) and I can get it to oversteer if I really try. No E-braking except in the snow...

Just wondering, out of all of the Canadian cars you could have gotten, like a Protege GT or 5 speed V6 1st gen MPV(hah!), why a SE?

we bought the car new before we moved here... I was only three at the time
Ill probably get new tires when I get new wheels, which won't be for a loooong time

vintage protege alert!

Eh? Looks modern to me, though I'm surrounded by a family of 10+ year old Mazdas. :)

Looks nice...not really happy to see stickers on the car...great Canadian spoiler. Looks to be in good shape overall...Mazda white paint from that era peels...I see tons of 1st gen MPVs, Miatas, 323s, and Proteges just peeled to crap...there's a white miata at work that the paint is peeling bad and the owner doesn't care, so there's surface rust on the trunk lid, top of the quarter panels, etc...you should take care of the missing paint ASAP or you'll be left with a Prote-rust in no time, especially in the snow with road salt.

i put the stickers on back when i was big into drumming... now i dont want to take them off because the paint will probably come off with them.
After I get new paint, I will have a firm no-sticker rule with the car, but for now, I don't really care. there's really only one section of rust that I'm really concerned about. Ill start a new thread about this, the area i'm most concerned about is the spot under the passenger door

Woo Woo, found yet another Mazda Forum!! New here, obviously, and I love the sight! Lotsa info and members too. I live in CA, drive a 91 323 that is slowly but surely becoming a GTX. Interior mods are my main concern, with some cosmetic exterior mods too. Car looks a lot different from my web site, since I installed a gang of things inside.
Eventually, when the cash comes in, I'll have a BP in my car, but I rebuilt my B6 head in Sept. 05, so I'm gonna run it into the ground.
Future mods include but are not limited to:
-EDM wire harness to link my adj. EDM headlights to the cabin
-Power Steering
-A/C
-Cruise control
-Car alarm
-Rear Disc conversion
-JDM Power Folding Mirrors
-Canadian GTX seats to replace my MX-3 ones
just to name a few!!!

I just noticed this thread. SybrFreq, do you have the glass moonroof too? Where did you get this car from? It's odd, US 1st Gens cannot even be registered on the road here(because of those retarded seatbelts I believe), so you guys are lucky you can import Canadian cars. I still haven't even heard of any American with a GT yet, however.

teknotexan, where did you get your seats from?
