well the reason for the post was to start a chronicle the before and after of them both being turbo charged.
i was going to for the next 2 weeks while im finishing up on the protege show pics of the progress including removal and instalation of the engine and turbo etc.
then a video of the dyno run. guess its not starting the way i wanted but oh well!

well an update on the set up for the p5
first fuel injection.
i scrapped the old setup i had with two injectors mounted before the throttle body. upon removal and inspection of the stock manifold i found room above the stock rail to mount 4 more 280 cc injectors with a custom rail.. this way i will eliminate the need for upgrading the stock injectors and leave the stock set up to run the way it was designed for off boost cruising speeds.
the VTCS solenoid is being scrapped. the VICS solenoid will be mounted on the firewall. this will clear the way for griding of the bolt mounts from the two solenoids and allow the placement for a clean injector install.
second MAF,
it was flowed today and will be converted to a 75 mm BLOW THRU meter that will measure the amount and temperature of the compressed air charge coming from the turbo.
third ignition,
we have succesfully controlled the ignition timing using all the stock sensors including the coil packs. we will next try to see if we can run individual packs to each of the cylinders but my budget will dictate whether or not we go thru with this.
we are able to control when the ecu sees the ckp signal and fire the coils for ignition.its not neccesarily ignition RETARD we are controlling, instead the entire firing process.
waiting for the pistons still but should be here any day .
i will start posting some pics once the engine is completley apart and the install is taking place so there will be a steady flow of info day by day. instaed of giant pauses so please be patient
also if things continue to go as planned a dyno run should be scheduled for next sat. this will be videotaped for everyone to see the following day. thats it for now. will post more info on the procedure tommorow.

how much boost are we looking at for day to day use?
14psi?
this thing sounds like its going to be a beast
what are you using to alter the ignition?

daily use 12 - 15 psi.
19 - 22 psi at the track
a company i work with designed a controll module that can accomidate 3 drivers .
fuel , ignition and VICS valve opening at 2psi boost

thats pretty sweet
how would it cost for one of us other turbo protege guys to get our hands on a neat little toy like that?
22psi :D pimp

the reason why im posting all this info is to show how the install went from day 1 to the end of the dyno day in tunong.
then my plans are to market two levels of the kit. the latter would include all the internal upgrades for the block and everything you will need to have a COMPLETE kit.
the price for the two kits will be available AFTER the final install.
trust me i will post it.
