Auto shift knob set-up.

Finally finished the whole set-up. DGM and MOMO with ractive e-brake. Used a sawzall to cut the shifter and e-brake. E-brake was a b**** to it. Cut the shift rod a little too short and had to zip tie the shaundarbie boot to compensate. The OD button was relocated and was easy. Tell me what you think.

is there a how to for this.....i really wanna do this but i have no idea how.......any help would be appreciated....
 
are there many auto shift knob choices for our car (p5)?

Something simple though, i dont have the technical skills that you guys do...
 
The MOMO knob is your best bet, altough others will fit with major modifications. No matter what knob you choose you have to grind or drill out the inside hole of the shift knob because the shift rod is to big in diameter. You also have to cut the rod and relocate the OD button, but that is the easy part. The hardest part is cutting and measuring the plastic piece inside the rod to work in conjuction with the button on the knob. Also, it is best to get the OEM shift boot bezel and taking the AT shift plate out. Good luck.

I dont have the O/D button on mine. Is there a knob that will fit on mine?
 
Any knob that has the 3 allen screws instead of a threaded knob. Regardless of what knob you get you are going to have to either: grinf the shifter rod or grind/drill the inside of the knob itself because the rod is too big for most knobs. I just put a round grinding bit in the inside of the knob for about 10 minutes and it worked but don't gring the threads! If you dont' have an OD button you won't have to worry about relosting any wires which will make it a little easier.
