TWM Shifter and kartboy bushings.?

well i just installed the twm shifter this morning and let me tell you that was a fun install.
i tried to do the kartboy bushing but for some reason i couldn't get the old bushing out. (scratch)
anyone got any tips?

btw the twm seems to sit about the same height but the shifts feel very nice.
and i had to give the heatshield a little bend cuz it was rubbing.

I have the same setup and love it, except for the fact that it's so close to the exhaust. I plan on having some exhaust made with the resonator far enough back so it's not right under the shifter. I took my heat shield off to see if that would help, but it still hits.

how do the bushing effect the shifting?

and are the new bushings a pain to get in?

Bushing tighten everything up, feels good. nah they slip right in

I have the TWM SS, Kartboy Poly bushings, and Bronzeoils bushings from Corksport. Never felt a better postive shift, and every mazda pro owner that drives my car loves it. I did cut a little notch out of the heatshield to allow room for the bottom of the shift lever, I could only use two of the bronzeoils at the front of the linkage the horizontal movement close to where the Kartboys go, and I had to cut my OEM bushings out to get the Kartboys on b/c I couldn't get the link off the post due to that second cat being in the way, but on an ES I helped on it was a piece of cake, and we used the post to push the bushing off the link.

where do the bronzeoil bushing go?
i emailed corksport and they said that i couldn't use them w/ the twm/kartboy

here is a really simple not to scale drawing I rigged up real quick to show where the bronzeoils go. With the TWM because it has the ball bearing bushings you wouldnt even want to use the brozeoils, but they send you four bushings per order, so I did install the two that go on the front of the linkage (circled in red in pic below) it controls the horizontal movement of the linkage. the other two (unused) ones replace the greenish plastic bushings on the end of the shift lever, they control the vertical roll of the linkage. it makes sense to me and i could explain it better if i was in person. the blue cicle on the picture below shows where there is a stock 2nd cat on the MSPs that make it difficult to get the link off of the post to put those pretty yellow bushings on. again i cut my OEM rubber bushing out with a utility knife. and I could tell a difference with the two bronzeoils in, it is a bit more positive. I still have the two extras.

Possibly, I told a local that he has first dibs on them, but if he bails I can swing them your way.

i am not sure i get the 2nd question but i think you are asking if the bronzeolis go in place of the kartboys, the answer would be no. you can use both, but i dont know about the bushings that would go at the end of the Kartboy shift lever. looking at the pic below I circled the link that would be the front bronzeoils in red and the kartboys are the yellow bushings pictured, so you can see they are in different places. you cant see the shift lever in the picture, but that is where the other two bronzeoils go.

oh ok, i was looking at the blue circle. haha.
i'm going to take a look at my car when i get home tonight and look at it.
let me know if he bails.

did you get a weighted knob for your ss? i think they are worth it, it weighs about three times what the stock msp one weighs and it feels nice, heres a picture of knob comparison
