Went to the strip with anarchistchiken

Hey guys, just got back from the local 1/8 mile strip. Miller (anarchistchiken) and I went to see what kind of damage we could do. Well, just speaking for myself, it was pretty sad. I dont have the slips scanned in, and I couldnt get my digital camera to take a clear pic, so here are the numbers by hand. I'll get them scanned in when I get to work Monday and add it to the drag times.

Nope, he was without the S/C this time. I think he said in a few weeks. His numbers should improve considerably.

He was a much better driver than me. This was my first time, but still, looking at the sticky on drag times, I may very well be the WORST driver on the board. Do I get a t-shirt or something?

Also, more details - I had 1/4 tank of gas, but the rest of the interior rear of the front seats is removed (See pic). Needless to say, i am very disappointed. And i was hoping to break 10s. haha (said in the nelson voice).

haha, you'd almost have to get down on all fours and crawl the 1/8 mile to be slower than me. I think i saw a guy in a battery powered wheelchair go by as I was hitting third gear.

Naw, not within a couple hours drive. I think there is one in Steele, Alabama. But the 1/8 mile one is less than 5 minutes from my house.

Scorch, when is your Paeco stuff getting back man??

p.s. With my old supercharger set-up (158whp on 4.5psi untuned) I ran a 10.2s @ 77.6mph in the 1/8th. Couldn't launch it for s*** and it starts spinning at the top of first but you can see that it'll REALLY add some pull ot the top end. If Miller didn't have 400lbs of dead weight in the car he might've broken into the 10's.

Good question Matty. I'll email Carl on Monday and get a status. Paeco is one of those companies that their motto must be "slow and steady wins the race." THey do good work tho, so Im being patient.

Yeah, Miller had the big speaker box, plus he's just a big guy, so that definitely slowed him down. Sucks we only got to race head to head once. It got real damn crowded about 7 or so, bikes, big diesel trucks, you name it. So we didnt get to run but 3 times before he needed to head to Florence. I'll be back up there in a couple of weeks, practice makes perfect. Its a wild experience, even in a slow car.

Yeah, that was the only good side Twilight.

Nope, I didnt think to drop tire pressure, but I wasnt having a lot of trouble with traction. Just a little spinning in first, and thats it.

Yep, 1/8 = 660ft.

Yeah, me too Brian. That was one of those rail jobs with an engine stuck on the back. Incredible. When we pulled up to the line, and he held it on the floor, I couldnt hear s***! I had no idea what rpm I launched the car at. It was like an atomic bomb had went off outside my car. By the time I hit second gear, he was already past the finish and slowing down. Oddly enough, that was my best run. I guess I was trying to catch him or something. haha.

Well, dont take my times as a good example of how fast our cars are. Im just a newb, and I'll get better. But yeah, even with my mods, these cars are sorta slow.

My p5 ran a 10.4s stock and a 10.2s with the obx header and ebay intake.
