Fe Rx-7
Mazda is most certainly not retiring the RX-7 nameplate, nor will it compete with the RX-8 (that car has created a niche of its own).
The FE-model RX-7 will be a two-door two-seater GT car, possibily also available as a convertible. It will be naturally aspirated and Mazda is working towards higher displacement (as opposed to turbo / turbos) to keep underhood complexity simple (ever looked at the vacuum lines under the hood of a FD-model twin-sequential-turbo RX-7? This means they're working on the long-ago still-born 15B or 17B projects (1.5L & 1.7L respectively) as opposed to the RX-8's 13B-based Renesis (1.3L).
The NC-model Miata will be out of the blocks at the 2005 Geneva Auto Show, to be introduced at the end of the year as a 2006, or possibly spring 2006 as a 2007. The RX-7 should be shortly behind that.
