    2007~2015 CX-9 Dim brake lights

Quick follow up to the replacement brake light switch. It was the culprit in my case and the part # was the same as above (Part #L23266490). It is a light green electrical switch with a white plastic rod extending at one end and is located above the brake pedal. To remove turn the switch unit...

    2007~2015 CX-9 Dim brake lights

I'm having the same "dim brake light" issue on my 2007 CX9 GT, and neither of the local dealers have the part in stock (or even agree on what the part is). How did you replace it, and does anyone have a parts diagram for this. Thanks

Blue Illumination lights don't turn on

If the 2012 is similar to the 2007, the blue lighting is part of the Grand Touring (GT) package and didn't come as part of the sport or touring packages. For switching between C to F (again on the 2007s) is accomplished by pressing and holding button on the lower half of the right AC control...

    Missing Qtr Panel Trim

I just noticed this piece of black rear wheel arch panel missing from my neighbors CX9 to. I guess it's not that uncommon.

    Creaking front doors?

OK Caustic’s post reminded me that I was planning following up with a door checker replacement DIY. I was quoted ~$275 to replace the checker at my Mazda dealership including parts, labor and tax. Plus I need to arrange rides to drop off and pick up my car from the dealership. The part alone...

    Dealer Maintenance Records

The Mazda dealership I use, in Toronto is able to look up the service and warranty history of my CX9, including the work the previous owner had done at two other dealerships. My other car (non Mazda) the dealer only has access to warranty work, but not service work done at other dealerships.

What would you change about your CX-9?

The ability to lower the front seats for increased headroom. No annoying warning chimes to signal that the "automatic" lights have been left on when the key is removed. Higher quality paint finish. Rust on liftgate and corrosion on almost every fastener on underbody after 4-5 years. Higher...

    Door edge protection guards

One note of caution regarding the edge guards is that I installed the black type found at auto parts stores (not the clear 3M film type) and they rubbed the paint off in a few spots in the jamb area.

    Creaking front doors?

I did, and they told me they wouldn't provide any good will but recommend I contact the dealer who originally replaced the checker (but didn't place the campaign decal under the hood, indicating the work was completed) to see if they might offer to pay half. I called the original servicing...

    Rust appearing on tailgate-beware

    Rust appearing on tailgate-beware

Have the same rusty liftgate issue and my service rep seemed unaware of any known problems or related TSBs, although the dealer body specialist knew exactly where the problem was once he was told it's on a CX9. He quoted me $475 to repair. Mine also has rust on the underbody after 5 years, in...

Looking for TSB for the "Door Checker" replacement on 2007 GT

Found out that this special service program has already been carried out on my CX9, so I'll either have to foot the full bill of ~$275 to have the dealer replace the checker again or attempt to replace it myself. I'll DIY the repair as the part is only around $20 (closest dealer wants ~$32, or...

    Creaking front doors?

I have a related issue to the noisy checker, although mine doesn't make any noise but has pulled out letting the door swing open past it intended stop point. When the door opens too far the door skin sheet metal can be damaged (kinked) by contacting the over extended hinge. There is a "Special...
