Need tires for 2016 CX-5 Sport, Michelin - Defender2, any good?

I use a tire shine/conditioner. I'm not sure if it helps but I would think that it does. It soaks in and keeps the tires looking black at least.

That surely should help. But I’m lazy and the General RT43’s have never had such nice treatment to the sidewall though.

Looking to replace my tires and saw the Michelin - Defender2 on sales at Costco for $739 installed plus tax. Does anyone else have these tires on their CX-5? I live in South Florida so would be getting All Season tires.

There are also the BFGoodrich - Advantage Control for about $649 installed plus tax.

Kelly Edge® Touring A/S? The price should be lower than those Michelins. But the 3.8 review rating may keep me from getting it.
The tires are turning out to be quite a find. Got a 5 star review from Walmart and 4.5 stars from Tire Review and 4 stars from Mavis and is considerably cheaper the the Michelin Defenders. Don't know where you're looking.

As long as the review is over 4 out of 5 from a known tire company, the tire should be fine. How much did you pay for each tire before installation?

Just from the Goodyear website link you provided in post #14 and the rating from customer reviews is 3.8:

I don't remember offhand, but total cost of everything, as I said before, came to a few dollars under $600.

That’s a good price for today’s high tire prices!

My CX-5 had Michelin CrossClimate2 installed two seasons ago at Costco. Best all-season tire I've ever used hands down. I've since put almost 40K on them and they are still quiet, have ferocious grip in water or bad weather.

I've made a point of scheduling a rotate and balance around each oil change when the wrench pops up on my dash. Costco doesn't seem to mind rotating early each time.

They also seem to make the vehicle handle a bit better.

Was hesitant on the price, but if I get anywhere near 70K+ out of them it is well worth it.
Michelin CC2s may be overkill for the OP in S. Florida. However, I concur completely with your comments about them. I managed to get ~25K miles on my Toyos that came on my 21 CX5 Sig and was happy to be rid of them. A "C" grade tire IME with 2 CX-5s. Researched the CC2s and have had them for about a year. Best tire I've ever owned (50 years driving in ID/UT). A true 4 season tire with no decline in the Mazda's excellent handling -- smooth, low freeway noise, and great in dry/snow/rain. I think a dedicated snow tire may be slightly better in the winter, but not by much.

Yeah, CC2 is probably not the best in Florida. I would choose an all-season tire that handles rain better.
