Does anyone use conventional oil in their newer CX-5?

Does the 2017 2.5L require frequent top offs? Im at 6k, and the oil level looked good last week. Maybe I got lucky?

I'm right at 40K on my '17 and usually need to add 1/4 quart or so between 7500 mile changes but every engine and driving conditions will be a little different.

You need to add 1/4 quart to keep the level above MIN? Or are you saying it uses 1/4 quart?

On my last oil change I drained a bit over 4 qts. I always add 5. That was about a 6500 mile interval last time, so probably a half a quart or so added around 5k should help? I'm about 4k since last oil change now, so will have to go check the dipstick.

I fill to max level when doing an oil change. After about 4500 miles I normally add about 1/4 quart to get back to the max level and it is still there when I change at 7500. If that makes sense, lol.

How much oil did you put in when you're doing the oil change? Although the manual says 4.8 quarts, but in real world we have to put 5.2~5.3 quarts to reach to the "Full" mark if you drained old oil completely. Yeah your situation on oil level is strange.
