Front camera blocked, defog windshield issue?

2016 CX-5 GT. Deep, holy crap that is dark, blue.
It's this a common issue? I get it often, with no weather concerns at all. Dry sunny days, rainy days with defogger on. Mornings, noon, and evenings. Clean wind shield all the time.

Time to call the dealer, or is this a common bug?

Mine came on only once when the car humidity was high. Is the humidity high where you live?

Definitely not common. Only seen a few people made similar complaint before. Yeah, time to make a dealer visit.

I've gotten out several times right after the error.. No fog or anything. Even inside the windshield /lens area

Eh, mid-east coast.. But hardly an issue any other time.. Especially in the summer street the car is in the sun all day

Happened a lot on my "6" in the winter, cleared up after I ran the defroster. Should not be happening to you in the summer sun!

This happens to me as well, but the message doesn't seem to last very long. In my experience so far, I wonder if it's the sun temporarily "blinding" the camera. Does your warning message stay on longer than a few seconds and if so, how long?

Not long. At most a minute. It just happens to pop up one or two times a weekend when I'm driving (only on weekends)...not sure how often for my wife who uses it as a daily.
I thought it was sun glare, but it happens other times, including cloudy days, and when under trees. So that killed that logical idea :(

I've had the same issue and wondered the same thing. While the message has popped up a few times. I can think of 2 times in particular that where almost identical time of the morning on my way to work. Same road, same spot on the road. It was coming up over a hill with the sun glaring in my face.

I will monitor mine over this fall and winter and try to report back. I don't think the message has stayed on anywhere close to a minute for me, but it is possible as the warning message is not all that attention attracting.

Now that you mentioned it, I can think of one stoplight where it's happened more than once around the same time of day this past summer (I also had sun glaring in my face). I guess this fall/winter will be the test (as long as I keep the windshield defogged LOL).

Happened most of the ride this morning. Same hilly road. The difference today is that is really foggy. I havent had this issue on the highway that I can think of

Mine came on during a clear night, so I took it back to the dealer. It gave them an erroneous code about front end repair at first, but they seemed to have it figured out and replaced the camera. It came on again but could have been due to sun blinding. I'm watching it for now.
