Here is schematic... only driver's window has hall effect switches for rotational direction detection

VAG-COM... haven't heard it for a while and we have a 2001.5 VW Passat.![]()
A DC motor will draw current in proportion to it's load. It is very easy to sense this current, and when it spikes shut off the power. In other words, a automatic closer would not need position sensors.

http://jpcarbon.com/Mazda-CX-5-CX5-...rror-Folder-glass-open-PlugPlay-P4398558.aspxI agree... that is what I was getting at with something to sense electrical load as well... that being said the schematic shows a fairly basic system outside of the drivers door.
Not arguing, just offering information for anyone that wants it.I didn't say it couldn't be done without some aftermarket help![]()
I would have to disagree on that... mechanical limit switch or voltage load controller of some type needs to be on the power window motor to sense when limits are reached.
I found out that too when I checked out a Euro version Audi. The owner's manual says by not auto-locking when you drive away is supposed to be safer than locking the door during the accident. Different regions have different thinking even on safety issue. Our BMW 528i can be set either way, but have to be programmed by dealer. Mazda is simply not to give owners any alternatives, like many other features. No Mazdas in the UK get drive away locking when all the US models do. I'd very much like to have it but there will be some reason for it

Or they copy from someone elseYou would only need to generate a pulse on the system I've got - all 4 windows factory fitted with auto up and down. But where do you stop? There will be features on a CX-5 that you don't get on a notoriously unreliable and expensive VW, BMW or Audi. Personally, I couldn't give a jot about this remote window feature. I can sort the windows out when I'm in it. No Mazdas in the UK get drive away locking when all the US models do. I know I can enable some customizations in my CX-5, '3-blink touch' lane-change feature is one, and there are other features the dealer can reprogram such as running lights on or off. I wonder if drive-away door locking can be enabled/disabled in the same fashion?
A remote window up/down feature is really a small blessing: it's nice to lower windows from the office, letting the interior cool some before the drive home on hot days or to roll them up without leaving the house when an unexpected rain blows through. I would like very much if it could be enabled.
