What car did you trade in for your CX-5?

I didn't trade-in, I sold my 2006 WRX to a private buyer.
I did NOT miss the 226HP as much as I think I would. My CX5 2.5L has enough power to keep up with traffic. When I use the Sport Mode it is actual pretty sporty.
Like many other owner mentioned, the premium gas, low fuel economy (18-23 mpg) and the speeding ticket is getting really annoying.
I am getting 350 miles per tank of gas in a combine city/hwy driving.

Traded in a 2013 Kia Sorento with 42,000 miles that had a 3.5L V6 AWD with Premium Package that got 17/19 MPG. That car was solid like a tank and served the purpose of buying it. (Moving stuff back and forth from my two son's colleges.)
Now that my sons are graduated and have jobs (thank GOD!) I wanted more MPG, a much better ride (the Sorento was a Harsh Couch on Wheels that took every bump, manhole cover and pothole like it was it's last time), and a much much cooler look. Never had a Mazda before so I tried driving my son's 2013 Mazda3 iSport...so cool...now I'm a Mazda guy...
Pick up a 2016 CX-5 GT AWD with Tech Package in Crystal Blue with Parchment seats (I'm more than willing to put in the work to keep them looking good).

Like: - comfortable quiet ride, especially on hwy
- plush interior
Hated: Transmission - new zf 9-speed was horrible, even dangerous at times (not responsive).
reliability - multiple trips to dealer for various problems,including multiple transmission flashes - last straw was after it stranded me (electric parking brake shorted out because of water infiltration in trunk - body seam was never sealed from factory)
This is my 3rd Mazda - after a '91 miata and my current '99 miata sport. - never had a problem with either one of them.
Hopefully my CX-5 treats me as well!

I hope you didn't lose TOO much on the trade-in, but at least you got rid of the Jeep. I'm a fan of the Grand Cherokee, but can't actually bring myself to buy one because of the reliability issues. The Cherokee has been worse from what I've read. As much as I like the Grand Cherokee and a few other Chrysler vehicles (300, Charger, RAM), I couldn't bring myself to buy one because they're such crappy quality.

I'm just curious, where did you buy your CX-5? I've had some 'interesting' experiences with a few Atlanta area Mazda dealers and only one really good experience (purchasing, that is). There are a couple of dealers with great service departments, though.

You know, there isn't any mod that I really wanted for my 2016 CX5. I have LED head light High and low beam + LED DRL, LED Fog light and black alloy wheels.
I did changed all the interior lights to LEDs + License plate lights to LED. I got all I wanted on this CX-5 which is very nice.

On my 2006 WRX I mod the headlight for HID 6000K, change the gauge cluster color, change all interior light to LED, changed the Radio and shift knobs.

That's the delivery time on the 2.5 here in Denmark, it is not the most common car they are taking home (Because of the price), they are mostly only having the 2.0L or Diesels in stock.

They told me it will roll out of the factory on the 30/11

Hello, new member here. Been lurking since we bought the car in June and decided to now join the group. Lots of good information here.

Anyway, we traded in our 2010 Forester for the CX 5. We loved the forester but didn't love the oil consumption. It was simply awesome in the winter with snow tires. It was very utilitarian and I never cared too much if it got minor scratches or dings and it got us around safely. It had remarkable visibility and gas mileage too. As I said, though, high oil consumption and a high risk of a costly head gasket leak were too much anymore. Started feeling like reliability was going to drop off any time.

LOVE the CX 5. Mazda isn't kidding with their zoom zoom. There are some negatives like visibility and MPG compared to the forester but overall it definitely wins.

It also seems like every other person has one of these now. Not too many GTs though so that's alright.

Anyway, thanks for reading and I look forward to sharing information and ideas with everyone here.

What kind of mileage were you getting out of the Forester? I see EPA states 20/27 MPG.

Mid 20s mixed and low 30s highways (60ish mph). On some of the really narrow, secluded back roads at night I could get mid 30s traveling 50 mph for extended periods. Even on interstates (70 mph) would be 29 mpg. The forester was a 5 speed manual so it was much easier for me.

New to the forum, I traded my 2011 AWD Juke SL for a Black Mica CX-5 GT AWD (w/o Tech Pkg; not worth the extra $ in Canada)

I LOVED the driving on my Juke but with the birth of our son, we needed more space.

The dealer gave me 16k in exchange for my Juke so I think I got off with a good start!
