How older drivers became the future of auto industry

AGREED! That said, if the ratio of geriatrics to millennials were as that article stated, wouldn't we be commuting in a sea of Buicks?
This retired senior citizen ain't buying no stinkin' GM built Buicks, nor Fords nor Chryslers!! (headshake lol

But there are many others who won't buy anything from Japan. My Grandpa was one such. WWII tended to have that effect on some people from that era, and their children through them. Right or not, it's a legitimate sales-killer for some.

I used to be the same way years ago.......that is until I got burned at least once each by the three domestic carmakers, GM, Ford and especially Chrysler in the 70's, 80's & 90's. I guess the only way some of us learn is through the University of Hard Knocks (bang). Ironically, my father served in the Pacific in WW2, and in his later years, all he would buy were Hondas & Toyotas, should have listened to him......go figure.

I met a guy who would not even consider a Mitsubishi automobile because the Zero had been used to shoot Allied soldiers during WWII.

Cars in general have improved greatly over the years. Better handling, better tires and more and better safety features. What has not improved is driver reaction times and in some cases common sense. All of these "betters" give some a false sense of control and they drive beyond their capabilities.

A techo gadget is not a replacement for common sense.
I've seen our friends back out of the driveway without looking......heck we have a back up camera now.
Same as making a lane change..............again why look when you have a blind spot monitor.
And they're not old....
The sad part is all these old cooters can't see or hear, but they can still drive a car? Not being prejudice, we have a couple in our family and we no longer drive with them, too scarey.
