What have you done to your MSP today?

I may do rod bearings with the engine in the car, does anyone still have the template that floated around 5-6 years ago for where to drill the holes to pull the windage tray without having to pull the trans? I searched and found a couple of the old threads, but none of the pics are hosted anymore :(

Edit: found it - http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/show...removal-help&p=5317573&viewfull=1#post5317573
I actually move mine towards the other end of the transmission. And tap for 3/8 NPT and then put plugs in to make sure there's no extra water from the road getting in there.

I probably will tap mine for plugs, but does moving the holes out really help? It seems like you'll be into the flywheel almost instantly.

Fuuuuuuuck I'm not looking forward to either of the options...

FWIW, when I had the turbo on my MP3, I just tapped the oil pan and never had any oil drain problems. Tapped it with a AN -10 line as high as I could on the oil pan and keeping the drain line as straight as possible to the turbo drain.

Edit: Just wanted to clarify, I used a bulkhead fitting...the oil pan is too thin to tap

thats what i was thinking of doing, but just getting under there and looking, i dont see how htat pan holds hte 3.5 liters of oil and leaves any room for oil return at the top... i mean that would be the easiest way FOSHO.. im prob just goinna hold off judgment until i get the pan off and have a good look. i think there is enough room on the p5 mbsp for me to tap the 14mm fitting i have.. the hex might not fit is my concern. but if i decide to go that route i might just go buy a new 1/2" barbed fitting with a long thread and make it work.

ah well. if i blow it up, the engine has 320km on it lol. great compression and the innards look good so its prob had work done.

tonight i spent a coupl ehours clearing the way, taking s*** out. tommorrow i need to pick up one or two replacment gaskets and some drillbits and hardware. this car is gonna be boosted by the end of tommorrow one way or another.

not an msp but basically it is.. everything that made the msp special is on the p5 now. just the paint remains. i didnt change the interior either aside from the shifter.

i still have plans to build the msp, but with the posibility of getting a 2003 Familia S Sport 20 special... i wonder where its place could really be.. 300+ hp msp awesome.. but i could build a 300hp+ AWD sport 20 with the same parts ;)

I have a pic of mine. uploadfromtaptalk1434203263798.webp You can see that they are in line with the points on the mbsp. You need to line the fly wheel up, then you can get the two 10mm bolts out.
Note the holes are from the factory.

uhhh. i have 3 g15 transmissions from proteges and none of them have those holes..

Because you have to drill them.

Need to wash 1574, finally got my spacers for 1345 and it looks good on the BBSs but i was hoping to be more flush in the front. May want to find some 15mm

i know. but he was saying it came that way.. but it didn't. someone did it before he got it..

progress has been good today. I should be boosted by tonight if all keeps going to plan.

I ran over a tree stump did a fair amount of damage. Cork Sport exhaust is crushed, trailing arm is folded and the seem in the trunk is messed up.

THAT sucks lol. but you can fix it.

finally sorted out all the fittings/lines ect i needed in addition. oil feed and pressure sender for autometer installed, coolant lines have been installed and just need to be connected. drilling the hole for the tap and finishing that up within the hour. after dinner i should be ready to really bolt the s*** together. getting excited. turbo wagon ftw.. 1991cc came around today and cut out the crash bar for me so my intercooler will tuck up nice and neat in the front grill. should be pretty awesome all together.

You should post pics of the wagon and the engine bay since I don't think anyone on here has seen it.

mbsp tap didnt go as smoothly as i would have liked but its in there. turbo is hanging off the car now and im just working out the coolant stuffs. i will say this.. installing the pope manifold not a 5 minute job.. had to modify a tool to actually get half the hex screws in. you have to leave it loose and shim it around to get some of them started ect. not super easy. no room. fun times.

i dont think there will be any major hangups tommorrow. but who knows!

money shot so far

Must have car done for victoria all japanese show and shine next week. 10th anniversery.
Of course mark is entering with his 30psi p5 lol.

Valk, why use the stock s pipe?

A cut down allen wrench is required to get the manifold on - there's no way around it.

Random question, every time it rains hard, the floor rug gets wet underneath my floor mats do you guys know why that can be happening? I don't think there's any holes in the metal frame underneath the floor rug.
