The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Bad part about a 4 day weekend, my desk is overflowing with work.

Was able to get oil changes done in both the Escape & Wagon, rotated tires on the Escape and switched to the winter wheels on the Wagon. Didn't get to wash them like I wanted to. Got the garage more organized, just need to build the tire rack and/or sell some wheels.

Took the family to the Zoo to enjoy the last nice day of the year and started a new workout program. Did other stuff around the house, overall a pretty productive weekend.

Turned 90k miles on the way to work this morning

Back to work :(

Everyone loves them!!

I texted you to see if you brought that plate with you today since I could swing down and maybe we can have a lunch date or something.

Ahh, I did not. I can do Friday, meetings tomorrow.

Everybody posts on Facebook now :( I can't pull that up at work.

You can't use facebook on your phone? I would guess that's how most people use it nowadays.

I could, but I can't sit at my desk on my phone. Much easier to just click on a tab and go back.

You better set your lineup for fantasy football this week Nate. Projections don't look good

I got locked out of Yahoo somehow. Have I even won a game since week 3?

What's everyone's plan this weekend?

What's everyone's plan this weekend?

Hopefully I'll get the door panels covered for the RX7. If more parts come in hopefully I can put some work into the harness. I really need to do an oil change on the Flex too. I'm not looking forward to doing all this in sub-freezing temperatures, though.

I'm glad I got mine out of the way on Tuesday. If not I might have gone somewhere instead.

How vital is using the "correct" oil filter?

I remember using the filter for the KL V6 on the MSP because it was slightly larger. The Escape and 6 have the same engine but the 6 has a fat, short oil filter that barely fits between the subframe & exhaust and can be frustrating. And it's almost never in stock. The Escape filter is slightly slimmer and longer but the seals are the exact same size. I'm going to assume thread pitch is the same as well.

Not sure about your oil filter issue.
But I am super excited and telling everyone. I just paid my CC and over the past two weeks I have spent 105 in gas with the new car. That's 210 per month and I used to spend 350 every two weeks in the speed. That's 500 saved for the month! This car is awesome!

I would say pretty important. You can do some cross reference but sometimes the threads can be close enough to screw on, but not exactly right. That could possibly come loose. Also, there are specs that different oil filters have for bypass, etc. If you look up the technical specs and compare it to what the car calls for, then size differences are fine, but the other specs should be close.

edit: but since you say they are the same engine, they would most likely work. I'm actually surprised a car with the same engine calls for a different oil filter.

Holy crap. I paid $38.37 on 10/27 and still have 1/4 a tank.

What is the difference in MPG. It seems like that much saving cant be made just from an increase in MPG, even if you doubled your gas mileage.
