Mazda did not make Motor Trend's Most Top 20 Dependable vehicles.

All makers had least one model, Mazda had NONE...

I can see why. If I can remember, electonincs comes in as some factor in their dependability testing, somewhere down the line.

is there a link to this article?

I bet Toyota has at least one model in this, yet is plaged by recalls... go figure.
maybe dependable is different than reliable.

I only trust Consumer Reports. Maybe Mazda didn't spend enough on Motor Trend adds!

I believe most of the "preferred vehicles" are based on advertising money they receive. Trust your judgement over "recommendations" from magazine or the internet.

It on their website. I got it from MSN.com in auto section last week.

Here is a good ?, Why is Mazda the "Red Headed Step Child" of the auto industry?

Had 3 Toyotas, last one being an 07. Car liked to do its "own driving" on occasion. Haven't looked at another Toyo since. Didn't buy that gas-peddle-stuck-on-the-rug routine. Anyway, this CX-5 is one of my favorites out of the last 5 new vehicle purchases I've made, and one of the most reliable to date.
I seem to remember Consumer Reports stating the Ford Pinto was a good car at one time. I don't take much stock in these magazines.

There are so many now no one know which way to go. All I know is the quality of my CX5 is great but the InfoCrap is Crap...

That's why Toyota is always at the top of these lists. They care about making things right and don't try to pretend it was designed to act that way.

I thought I just saw on someone's quality list, sorry, don't remember who, Mazda was in 3rd, ahead of Honda(4th). I guess take those with a grain of salt, since each survey seems to be quite different in their results.

Before I bought my 2015 CX-5 GT I owned a 2008 Honda Accord. While in the womb we're told how reliable Hondas are supposed to be. Here's my Honda: http://www.carcomplaints.com/Honda/Accord/2008/.
Brake Problems, check! Engine Problems, check! Interior Accessories Problem, check! AC Problem, check! I fought with Honda Corporate for 3 years (40,000 miles) to get them to address my engine problem of excessive oil consumption. Burning a quart of oil while driving less than a 1,000 miles is apparently acceptable. Bottom line, they finally fixed the issue. And they managed to do so before my warranty expired. But as beautiful as I thought that car was, my stress was through the roof.

I'm hoping for the best with my Mazda. I'll do my part by doing the proper maintenance. But to this day, the greatest vehicle I ever owned was a 1992 Nissan Pickup. I had that Hard Body for 12 years and never had an issue!

I guess Mazda didn't buy enough advertising space this year.

*hops in his dead-reliable 11 year old MSP and zooms away with finger in the air*

My previous VW Rabbit 08' did not have a single issue, in 6 1/2 years!
VW's reliability has come a long way. We put 150k miles on our '01 Golf TDi in with no significant issues and then our daughter put another 80k on it before selling.
