"On certain vehicles due to insufficient sealing performance of rear view camera. it is possible that water may enter the camera while high-pressure car washing and/or water containing road salt may enter the camera while driving. With these conditions the rear view camera may not display any images on the screen or display blue screen, and/or warning/indicator lights may illuminate in the instrument cluster."

Bottom line. If you got a notice, your CX-5 is included in the recall (oops! that's 'Special Service Program'). Call your dealer for an appointment and you get an updated camera at no charge. Prediction is 30 minute install.

Yeah I received the notice today. Will book an appointment this Saturday for next week.

I just got my notice too, they must have done a bulk mailing. I'm going to call and ask if it can wait until the next service (in 5 mos. time)

Good for you. I called early yesterday morning and was told to bring it in for an assessment, but once I read to him the notification paragraph that the camera WILL be replaced I got a "Gee...we don't know anything about that." followed by a pause so pregnant that I finally broke it by suggesting that I call back in a few days when they may know more. He was good with that and hung up on me. I took the letter down to the dealer later in the morning and saw the service manager. "We know about that, but the part is on back order and we expect to get supplies in 10 days. We'll call you."

I plan to just wait until my next oil change in January. My dealer is across the city and it's probably better to wait for all the people that want to rush in and get it done anyway. It's not like it's a safety issue or anything.
