The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

it is, crazy to say ive lived in this city for nearly 8 years (i moved up on October 10, 2005) and im still finding new and cool things in this city. there are alot more hidden gems in this city than i ever imagined haha. i think one reason is that ive found that most natives are normally willing to cross one river to do things but rarely cross 2 of them, so things stay as that "areas best kept secret" LOL

offer stands, for anytime regardless of duck or not. if you OH guys are in my hood ill meet up with you and introduce you to some of the hidden gems of the city haha

I might have to take you up on that sometime. My aunt lives around Pittsburgh someplace.

Thats freakin awesome!!! I miss living in the burgh.

so back on the topic of bad dealers, a friend of mine just was ranting on FB about her issues
Yes I am a girl. Yes I am 22 years old. But yes I know about cars, yes I can drive a stick. And yes I know you're trying to rip me off. Kiss my pasty white ******* ass. Don't tell me I can't test drive a car bc I'm a girl, you piece of s***. I'll never go to your dealership again..... This dumbass tried telling me the value of an '09 scion tc 5-speed manual with 83,000 miles is $13,000. Meanwhile, I know that it's only worth around $10,000 in IMMACULATE condition. Then he proceeded to laugh at me when I said I wanted to test drive a newer one and said that I could test drive it when I bring a guy back who knows how to drive a manual. Meanwhile, I CAN DRIVE A MANUAL.

i told her i would be happy to go back with her, and just dump clutch and roast tires in the lot LOL

want to fix dealershits... start with the shitheads that work there...

^ she should call the General Manager and tell how she was treated. And in the meantime, find her a bad ass muscle car to show up in with a 4 speed manual, have her pull up to said dickhead salesman and do a burn out/ donut and have her say "i drive stick better than your pansy ass, fool!"

i told her i would be calling the manager and expressing my displeasure,

and there are like 3-4 guys willing to go intentionally abuse that car they are trying to sell and then get out and be like "i cant drive stick, she can but since you siad she needed to bring a guy i came along"

Thomas, what happened to your brothers car? I saw he emancipated a rod recently! ?

Yea, on his way back from class last Thursday. He has 160k on that car, and its 3300 to fix it, so he is just buying something new. Probably a focus hatch manual transmission. Nothing fancy, but good gas mileage. I may end up buying the car from him and putting a pull-a-part motor in it.

New or pre-owned? I have a really nice 2014 Focus hatch with a 5spd down here. Its sterling grey, leather, heated seats. I can cut a decent deal on it if hes wanting something new.

Speaking of motors, how the 6 coming along?

I need the starter rebuilt with higher cranking power and its running.

He is looking at 5-speed base. He found a few for 16.5, which is kind of where he was looking to spend. Unfortunately he does 150+ miles a day.

Wooooooow. Was that dealer around here?! I don't even know what to say besides I would have went to management... Then found out what kind of car he drove... And probably where he lived. But, uh, that's just me.

I can remember going to the Mazda dealer in kent when I was in high school and walking in, being greeted, going out to look at an RX8 and the salesman asking how old I was (18) if I wanted to drive it. We both knew I wasn't going to buy it. He asked auto or 6 speed and I said 6 speed, of course. He drove it off the lot and about a mile away we swapped. He even told me to open it up on 261, lol.

I'm pretty sure I had only owned my neon at that point... He may be to blame for my Mazda ownership!

I can't believe a salesperson could think he could get away with talking to a customer like that.
