What tire shop would even mount that tire and wheel combo? I can't get my head around the whole stretched tire thing. Ri-fricking-diculously dangerous.

The new model is larger than the last one so being lighter at all is already a plus.
yeah, but with how skyactiv has been promoted I kinda expected 2-300lbs less.

I would if they signed a waiver and paid me.

That is so stupid. I just want to kick every tire I see like that so it comes off the bead and the moron comes out to 4 flat tires.

Why did you go with such a wide wheel and narrow tire anyway, Jess?

It must be a Cali thing. Heck, tire shops around here won't even touch a 235/45-17 without me asking nicely. I'll be going to Smokey's from now on for all my mounting/balancing though. That's who did Jess's and V's wheels perfectly.

They won't touch a pretty standard 17" tire size? What the heck?

Holy crap! The Chive isn't blocked at work anymore!!!! YES!!! haha

Thomas, Leipold in Stow gave me such a hard time to remove some 225/45-17's from my Rays so I could ship them.

That's insane. They never gave me crap about tires on my 6, which is basically that exact size. Then again, they did take 2 hours to do a set of tires while I waited, and charged way more than I should have paid.

There is not a wider street tire available that will fit, overall diameter-wise. I bought the wheels a year or so ago hoping all the talk of a 245 that would fit would come true... But it did not.

If the front end was tubbed, I'd have one more choice in tire (235/50/15).

I need like a 255/35/15 lol. There is a 275/35/15 but it's a slick.

Those are the 225/45s I'm guessing? That's not terrible on a 9.
