The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Thank you for choosing 35 watt. I remember #2, Wes and Peaches and I were on our way back from PA and Peaches had 55 watt bulbs ALL up in his 3 blinding me for 4 hours. Goooood times.

That's one of the reasons I was in front HAHA!!

Ugh, just made the mistake of looking up the Fiesta ST on Ford's website. Now I want one and am already looking up trade-in values for the 2.

I don't blame you. The Fiesta ST looks sweet.

it has major potential I like it more than the focus

I also like it more than the Focus. Not sure why though, they look pretty similar. For both cars I wish they put a true LSD instead of the torque vectoring system. But then again I've never driven either so I don't know how well it works.

I think its because the fiesta can get away with the more bubbly body. The focus looks like a cheap mid life crisis to me

I think the new styling (Aston Martin?) helps it a lot. The current Fiesta is about as visually pleasing as the 2. But with nearly 200 HP and 200 ft-lb with nearly the same fuel economy as the 2 it's a very good sell. About the only thing Mazda could do to combat it would be a Kodo-redesigned Mazdaspeed2 but there are currently no rumors. Hell, even a 2 with a SkyActiv engine with 40+ highway mi/gal would be better.

Either way, I'm happy with our current new Ford and I can secure some pretty good pricing so I may just go talk with our dealership in the near future.

No doubt about it Ford has really stepped up their game in the last couple of years. My Dad's company car is a Ford Taurus SHO and it's very nice.

man that would be nice to get a SHO as a company car. Westfield only gives out base models and I think they are annoying to ride in

He's the GM so he gets to pick anything he wants as long as it's American and it gets approved by the board of directors.

gotcha, Still nice. does it still feel like a cockpit in the passenger seat? is the truck popper still on the center council on the passenger side?

Yep. I like the cockpit feel with the angled center console.

If they made the new SHO with a manual transmission, I would get one in a heartbeat. Sho's SHO!

I've driven a couple, and its nice just the way it is. Its not meant to be a sports car, its big and heavy.

There comes a point when a manual transmission is just not practical, no matter how good you are you won't be able to shift fast enough to get the most out of the engine. Case in point: BMW 650i. A turbo V8 with 445 HP is a beast. Sure it could have a manual, but driving that thing flat out it shifted pretty fast by itself in sport mode. The paddles gives you a measure of control, but honestly it was better in auto mode.

Maybe it'll be different when im older, but i get no enjoyment getting in a car throwing it drive and just going lol. I need a clutch pedal to keep me entertained

^ Yep.

The auto in the SHO is really nice. But yeah I would never buy one, too big for me and no manual is a deal breaker.

This. The "automated manual" technology has come a long way. When we were looking to get the TDI for my wife I really wanted to save $1500 by going with a manual but the DSG transmission shifts faster than I ever could and actually gets better fuel economy. And that was just the "economy" version. I can only imagine how nice the "sports" versions are on BMW's, Ferrari's, etc. The only downside is they seem to be a little clunky at low speed and during warm-up. The only complain I have with our Flex is that it has a traditional automatic transmission.
