We ordered this like 3 weeks ago and it finally came in! Hubby put it in my car today and i am in love with it! i think it is so much better looking than the other armrest, and it goes really well with the rest of the interior design.
If anyone is considering getting one but is on the fence and isn't sure, and wants opinions, i would personally, highly recommend getting it :).

Thanks for posting this. The only thing I don't like about the 2 is that there don't seem to be many places where you can store gadgets and things out of plain sight. This would certainly solve that problem, and I like that it doesn't require drilling any holes or destroying anything to install.

Yeah i mean it doesnt have ALOT of storage room in it but its perfect for money. jewelry phone ipod small stuff you wanna hide while you run into a store quick or at work or w/e its perfect. id go with the other armrest though if you want more storage room. but i think it looks better. And you can still use all the space UNDER the armrest like the cup holders. If you have a bunch of stuff you wanna hide there is always under the seats or the glove box :) haha
and the install was really easy only took my husband maybe 15 - 20 mins max.

Looks great! I work sun up to sun down so I always have coffee in my cup holders and I couldn't give up the easy access lol but otherwise i'd def get one.

I have one and it is WELL worth it. I think it is redicolus that the car didn't come with an armrest from the factory. After about a week I had ordered mine. It made the car twice as comfortable.

see... the beauty of that is the cup holder in the armrest slides out in front.... easiest access ever :)

and i deff agree ngd, it instantly made the car at least twice as comfortable. i really can not believe they didnt put on in it or at least have an option to put one in, in the first place.

I love mine also great place to put starbucks!:)

Mine just came in today as well! I couldn't believe how well made it is. The pieces are very heavy!

Ok so I've seen this before, but like the stock armrest I'm worried about interfering with spirited or even just DD shifting on the 5MT model. Anyone with the manual use an armrest?

I would like to know this as well. It probably helps that the shifter isn't floor-mounted.

yeah actually that is a really good question i have no idea... i know the armrest isn't adjustable at all its a set height.... where are all the other people with these that own sticks?!

I have a manual and it does not get in the way. For me anyways. If anything you could always raise it up between the seats. It's got it like that. ;) For those with out a Mazda 2 manual.... for god's sake why?! :(

Finally, someone who makes me feel like I made the right choice ordering a M/T 2!

I don't know how to drive it yet, but whatever!

i didnt want to learn how to drive shift on a brand new car. id be too scared to actually drive it anywhere aside from parking lots lmfao. hubby tried to teach me on his Saab a few years ago and i did ok its just been so long though his car died shortly after. my next mazda will deff be a stick though :)

It really helped me shift better because it made my arm more steady, and with a drink in the cupholder it gets in the way just a tiny bit, but not enough to the point that I wouldn't use it, I just use the existing cupholder a when possible. Access to the existing cupholders is slightly impeded, but once again it's not bad at all and well worth it.

I was worried about the armrest getting in the way of shifting but it actually feels fine. My arm is in the right spot where my hand just sits on the shifter. Obviously the built-in cupholder won't get used much but the OEM ones still work fine.
Highly recommended.
