What have you done to your MSP today?

Ahh makes sense. I was thinking I could just do the 2.0 regular protege valve cover for now to clean it up since I don't use the msp cover and then next month just the 1.8 pack conversion. Glad I asked. So best route would be just get the 1.8vc from the 626 and packs all at the same time

The dealership I bought the MSP from in Georgia has a black MS3 right now for $10,000... If I could get someone to pay me at least $4000 for the MSP, I'd do it. The thing about the MS3 is, that my insurance is going to be $250/month on top of a car note. I haven't had to make car payments in almost 10 years... I've always paid cash for all my cars since my Integra.

will be installing this bad boy today :)

Are the 626 Transmissions the same as the Protege transmission?

Good god you pay a lot for insurance lol

Discovered my valve cover gasket is shot and leaking oil last night. Also noticed a little up by the 4th spark plug hoping my oil cap just needs to be replaced as well. :( Perfect excuse to get a different valve cover, powder coated, and an msp oil cap lol. I'm at work and don't have time to search right now. What's the valve cover we can swap on? Wanna do the 1.8 coil pack conversion but with all this, the new tires(Falken ZE-502's), and pope just ordered parts money is limited lol.
you mean a different one than the stock msp one right? I'm a little messed up still from getting the wisdom teeth pulled but I still have my old msp valve cover from the first msp..

Speedadiction20 what I would do in youur shoes is sell those two cars and just get yours fixed. No need to forge it as that adds additional down time and cost. Another option is depending on your credit is to go by your bank and see about taking out a small personal loan and pay that back over the next 1-3 years in monthly payments.
well how much do you think it would cost to fix the spun bearing and possibly replace the crank if it's shot compared to just getting new rods and pistons.. because the labor will still be there to take the car apart, and I might be able to get some help from some friends to do a lot of the work with me... but it's been a while and I'm not sure the cost differences between the 2.

I would suggest planning on a new oil pump. I would be willing to bet that you've had a failing oil pump and it caused the rod bearings to go. Also, didn't mention just having changed the oil? Maybe you've got a failed oil filter. I had an oil filter fail on my 240sx and it took out my motor. It ruined the head and I had to rebuild the bottom end.
Yeah this started to happen fairly recently after changing the oil and filter actually, like.. I dono 1k miles maybe or less, probably less.. but anyways that sucks. also had changed to Castrol GTX super synthetic of some crap like that, I think I will go back and stick to royal purple or mobile one

I'm trying to decide whether or not to just pick up a standard transmission or purchase a replacement LSD from Crossover... It's all dependent on whether I decide to keep the car or not.
