hey guys, i just got in the mail today the AEM wideband setup and was wondering where the best place is to put the 02 sensor for the wideband? exhaust is all stock callaway garbage. dont know if there is a place to tread it into or do i have to drill a hole and weld in the bushing included in the kit? thanks!

the stock j pipe has a bung there with a threaded plug in it. I just removed the plug and put the sensor there.

LOL! I'm glad I read this. I have a brand new innovate just sitting in the garage because I thought I was going to have to wait to install my Pope DP before I would have a place to put a bung for the WB. Thx for the info!

so i got it all in, and did my first run with the current map i have for the ssafc and according to the data logging software, the AFR ranges from 7.5-10.9 from 3500-4200 @ avg. 8.5 PSI. what should i be aiming for? assuming lower numbers are richer, higher are leaner?

You should not be seeing 7.5 at all. and yes lower numbers are richer, higher is leaner. So you are extremely rich. Most aim for a mixture around 11.0 to 12.5.

there is less danger of zoomzoom boom running rich vs/ lean correct? and is it normal for the afr to read 8 @4800 8psi, then 10.6 at 5100 @8psi? can this also be corrected by adjusting the values at the rpm/psi it is reading rich on the map? sorry for all the ?, just dont want ah black paperweight (sad2) lol

yes, less danger which is why our cars are tuned pig rich from the factory. If you are datalogging, use the corresponding data you logged and adjust the values that need to be changed by increments of .1. You don't want to change too much at one time.

Be aware that too rich of a mixture can suppress detonation, but has the side effect of damage to the catalytic converter, oil washed off the cylinder walls (which causes damage to the pistons/rings/cylinder walls), fouled plugs, etc.

Peak power is usually seen from 12:1-13:1. If you have to run more rich than 12:1 to prevent detonation, then you need to improve your intake cooling (CAI, intercooler, water injection)

I don't know how your running that low from the factory. Even on the factory tune I was in the 10's from the get go. After the AFC even on the super map I was in the 11s. Are you sure that everything is actually reading correctly? Seems wayyyyyy to rich to me. Try adjusting in small increments until you are around 12.0 to start. I bet your car will be running amazingly well compared to now.

He might have a vac leak that's caused the LTFT's to be off and making it super rich in boost.

@ idle its holding -21 for vacuum. some pulls it will be 11.2-12 and other will be 10.6-<10. if i drop from 4 to 3rd and hammer on it, it wont set me back much, but if i drop 4 to 3rd and ease into it until i hit WOT, it pulls harder.....

and for mods i have the ssafc v2 w/data logging, aem wideband, 1 step colder copper plugs, electronic boost controller, hard pipes, hks bov, and cat back

just checked it out and i found a split vac line going to the sensor with two wires that is bolted onto the cold pipe right near the TB....is this part of the fuel trim setup?

Fuel trim something that occurs inside the ecu. I could explain all of it, but it would take 2 paragraphs to explain it all. Just do some research on what fuel trims are and you'll figure it out.

As for the split vac line, that could definitely cause and issue and it needs addressed.
