So I'm the first car sitting at a light in the right lane, and once I get going after the green I realize I need to go faster to get ahead of the car on my left so I can make my left turn at the next light. I could have fallen in behind but then I loose my opportunity to zip around the next turn once I make my left. So as soon as he hears me get on the gas the guy does the same so I can't get ahead of him. It wasn't even funny (OK maybe it was) how quick he shut the door in his 90's taurus (non-SHO).

I was looking for a slow, fun car when I bought my 2, and thats exactly what I got. I can't be the only one here entertained by the slowness. Feel free to share your slow car stories!

100 hp can only do so much lol

I have driven fast cars as daily drivers, so driving the mazda2 as a daily driver takes some time to get used to the slowness. I get into a fast car, I tend to drive fast, but with my mazda2, I actually follow the speed limit o_O Its a more pleasing drive for me driving slow. I actually get into my "gas saving mode" when driving the mazda2. I play a game of "how much mpg can I get avg" lol
Its fun to drive around anywhere except trying to pass on the highway....

Hm. I drive a '97 Taurus with modifications and the 2 is so much more fun and because of its size is so much quicker. :\ My Taurus dyno'ed at 122hp and 169lb-ft of tq. No idea what the 2 will put down, but it'll probably be 95hp, haha. Do you know what kind of Taurus it was? There were several engine options for the Taurus and if you went up against a Duratec or a 3.8L, the 2 would have no chance in hell. The only one that I believe the 2 can pull on is the Vulcan engine. :)

My previous daily driver was a 300hp Subaru, and even without the gas savings I still enjoy the 2 more.

I have no idea what model Taurus it was, and really wasn't very surprised that it was faster. Once I'm done with break-in I'll get to test out my hyper-mileage skills.

It's like owning a Porsche 911 but going to the go cart track... you still have fun lol.

lol, I just moved from slow vehicle to slow vehicle. A lateral move that I hope to one day break the cycle of ;)
