Ashley, that looks like one helluva project!

What's up NEPOC? I think we need another food and beer meet for the month of June. Who's gonna be around?

How things have changed in the 3 years since I found this group... Hardly any posts on here. People try to get meets together and nothing. I know everyone has things going on... But not even a sorry cant do it??

:'( makes me sad too. Im the newbie, I dont really feel my voice has to much weight behind it but Id def be down to get together and meet you guys. Its def sad to see things so quiet around here.

I just don't have time. I drive my car once a month so I don't think about it often. I'm planning a wedding, working on the house, working on the vette, taking care of the puppy and working a lot more since getting a promotion. I don't hang out with anyone outside of work or Ryan.

I find myself doing the same lately. Work, and family. Lifes a juggling act. Sometimes you can put more energy into 1 thing rather than the other. But you always gotta have your priorities..... lol

So... Want to know what I just spent the last hour doing??? yes?? Good!

So Nathan decided he wanted to play with his legos while on the potty! His Ninjago has a 2-3 inch sword.... yea it went in the toilet and he didnt tell anyone and flushed it... guess what people... we have a flush up toilet for the basement... it got stuck in the pump.... see where this is going????

I had to pull the toilet pump apart!! not once but twice to find the damn thing!!!!!!

Effing kids.... If he wasnt mine and I didnt love him hed be a dead 6 year old!!!

Thanks Happy BD to your Mom.

Kids, what are you going to do with them??

Getting ready to go on a RCMP Foal tour with the local Miata group. Place is where they breed and raise the horses for the RCMP Musical ride.

Sunday will be autoxing for the 1st time this season. Got rid of the slicks and will be racing on street tires this year. It also dropped me out of the top class which had cars that were not streetable.

Any of you Miata guys do road racing in the area? Like is there any courses. Not autocross. IDK if theres much of a difference but it seems autox is more turns and sharper? Im looking for road courses....

To do any road racing, the closest outlet is NHMS. There are several clubs that hold track days. You'll have to become a member and sign up in advance. Check the NHMS website to see which clubs are holding track days and then do a reverse lookup. One of these days I'll make it out there. If you have any questions, shoot a PM to Astral (Oleg). He's done a few track days there. Limerock park is another outlet.

HOWEVER....

Most people will tell you to start with the autox. It's a better value for your dollar and the skills you pick up will directly apply to road racing you do in the future. It will teach you to find the limit of your car in a controlled environment.

Ya I was just youtube'n and google'n away on it. Scca NER SPEC Miata seems like the goal. But as you mentioned AUTOX def seems like a good training ground.

Had a great day autoxing. Rained on and off but got some decent runs in.

Mary is off to a funeral tomorrow in Halifax NS. A very good neighbour of ours when we lived there died of cancer this past week.

I will be staying home for work and looking after the dog.

I went to a Santa Cruz demo day yesterday and rode some mountain bikes that cost as much as that generator I've been talking about getting for the house. 15 miles went by like 5 miles on my hardtail....well except for the part where I went over the handle bars. One of the bikes I tested did not have tires designed for wet roots and when they prepped the bike they were pumping the tires up to about 40psi. I usually run about 30psi. Needless to say, it made for a slick ride. The full suspension gave me confidence but it was quickly taken away on a fast steep decent when a series of angled roots across the trail pulled the bike further and further from the center until I eventually clipped a small tree with the handlebar and went for a ride.

Conclusion... I'm definitely getting a full suspension trail or all-mountain 29er in the near future....but I'll be getting appropriate tires before attempting to ride in the rain.
