Umm why it's the same thing minus the silver needle's and mazdaspeed on one of the face's they have a red film also.

Just paint the needle hats. That's what I did.

thats pretty pointless when you can get way better output from a hid kit.. sounds like a waste imo. hid projectors is the way to go

They each have pros and cons

If you use your headlights during the day as a DRL, LED's in the halogen reflectors will be much more visible than HID projectors, the projectors aren't meant to be a DRL as all the light ouput is below the cutoff

I know I saw a how to thread on our forums where someone changed the guage color. They took apart the whole cluster, changed out the led's on the board, changed the colored film behind the cluster and changed everything from red to blue. I can't find the damn thread to post the link. I'll keep searching

well I need my car running today, so I guess ill take appart the needles from the motor and sand the backing off.

The end result is quite nice, but daaamn that's a lot of work for some blue lighting! Also, I find it hard to believe you can't get replacement needles online somewhere...

but heh yeah I removed the needles off my temp / gas gauges and cant get them back on... I thought we needed to remove them in order to get rid of that plastic backing.
Do I have to buy new ones.....?
I thought "breaking the needles" meant breaking off the red pointing part.. not disconnecting the little rod off the motor X_X

Hey o.g., let me know if you figure out a way to keep the clock spring for the turn signals. I have a Sparco wheel too and had to delete it. I sometimes forget to cancel my turn signals... rather embarrassing.
