The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I'm definitely in for Mid-Ohio. Might just come up for Saturday/Sunday of the Belle Isle race.

I don't think the miata pans are the same as the Proteges though. Nor have I ever seen the oil light come on when I been on the track. I under stand the value of a simple oil pan to a whole build, but I guess if I wait till next off season it should be part of my N/A build.

btw, does flying miata build protege heads?

Aah but you forget sir... I started with a P5. Those things that I mentioned, I experienced with my P5. The Miata has seen two autocrosses. Starvation isn't an issue with those cars since the engine is positioned the correct way... ;)

Just rub it in Phen.
I would love to go to mid-ohio, bell island, and maybe the friday for Indy. I didn't see corral tickets for bell island or indy though on the websites. I just saw general admission and padock pass prices. or is there another website we need to go to get tickets from.

Both of our cars have gone full retard on me. The 3 has the ABS light constantly on, ABS not working. I tried to get to the wheel sensor deal, no luck. Looks like the whole bearing assembly has to be removed. Not going to happen in my garage. The only thing I could think to do was disconect the battery to try to reset it.......no luck. On a good note my Hawk HPS pads are looking good, very little wear. The P5 also has a brake issue, the warning light is coming on during hard-ish braking. The fluid might be a little low but not so much as to turn the light on. Anyone got a clue what I should do?

well nevermind then! congratulations

thanks, mid-ohio is iffy for me as well that's why I set-up the Columbus Meet.

All this talk about oil starvation makes me want to look into the AWR oil pan but finding one when I get my tax return might tough.

They're not finalized yet. It's still really early.

The other option is to go straight dry sump. It's the best option overall to be honest.

How does that work out. Maybe I'm just not picturing it in my head.

Does anyone know how hard or easy it is to put on a Thunder Mani v2? and do I need a stud kit for the upper end?

Anyone interested in going to Bristol next month (3/16-18) Our original couple backed out on us and we are now stuck with 2 tickets @ $120 each (middle of backstretch row 32 on the aisle). These 2 tickets are for the Friday track activities (qualifying and practices and stuff), the Nationwide race and K&N East series race on saturday, and the Cup race on sunday. We cancelled our weekend rental house and need to line up 2 people to go, that way we can split a rental (if you want to stay with us) or we need to make a move on our own place to stay. Let me know ASAP so we can line up a new place to stay.

something or exactly like this?

Don't know about installing the thunder mani but haven't heard gret things about them but I'd recomend the arp studs.

I've always wanted to go to Bristol but I'll be changing diapers

I'm going to loo over it real well before putting it on. This is a great week. Mishimoto parts, 626 mani (thanks to Nate), and the thunder mani (thanks to Charles). I think it is year of the Mazda for me. Can't wait until this snow goes away and the MSP can come out and play.

Changing diapers next month?

yep, we are exactly one month from the due date, but I have a feeling the baby will be a week or two early

There's a blast from the past... as well as a lot of names of knowledgeable people who have moved on. Yes, that's pretty much exactly what I was talking about.

I did the upgraded oil pump but not the whole system, of course it doesn't really work untill I install it. It's fun to find older threads and read through them to see. A lot of info on here.

Shocking, isn't it? Especially when you consider how many threads and posts there are on here on how to slot your coilovers to get more negative camber in the rear.

But yeah, the pump is a good start... but only as good as the supply of oil. Know what I mean?
