Hey everyone!

I've been selling a few downpipes per month and have had a lot of very happy customers. People who buy a finished pipe with flex and flange get a great part. The problem is that when people have ordered an unfinished pipe it's designed to need work and people don't always realize this. I leave them extra long (which generally means they are pretty close to the oil pan) so that people have the ability to work with them and adapt the pipe to their needs. Unfinished pipes will still be an available for custom order but they are coming off the website.

The big news is that I'm adding a few things to make the experience more pleasant and to finally be able to offer something for all of you out there with 2.5" exhausts.

1. A hardware and gasket kit will be offered. It will include socket cap screws, spacers, and gaskets. ~$20
2. A water neck spacer. This will space the water neck out 1/2" so that you don't have to buy a whole new neck and hose if you have clearance issues. ~$20
3. A 3" to 2.5" reducer that will adapt the pipe for all of you with 2.5" exhausts. ~40

None of the options will be required, but they all should be available within a couple weeks. My goal is to broaden the appeal of the pipe and make it a little easier to install. Like I said - the complete pipe with flex and flange has been a great success and works great. These options will make it even better and by dropping the unfinished pipes I should have a setup that works for everyone right out of the box. Please don't hesitate to speak up if you think there is another option I should add or something that should be changed. Thanks!

Personally I would bump the price of the DP up by 20 bucks. I say this because it ensures less fitment complaints and less hassel for the end user. Now with that said if you were to do that I would put a spot to where you can opt out of the spacer if you don't need it.

I'll have to see whats easiest to configure when I update the shopping cart buttons, but you may have the solution.

just curious, would going from 3in. to 2.5 in defeat the purpose of the 3in. downpipe?
nope not really you just wouldnt get the full affect but that depends on who your talking to... I have the pope casting only, 3" dp with 3" catless midpipe necked down to stock at the axel back. I can feel and tell a HUGE difference in the car.

The downpipe is where you'll see the biggest gain - by far! After that you just want it flow well and the stock axle back is actually pretty good. The ultimate stealth system is a big dp, large cat, and then a smooth transition to stock. I know on my WRX I saw a 25 hp increase with a dp (and high flow cat) and then only 2-3 hp on the axle back when compared to stock.

Bravo Pope, could have used that spacer a couple weeks ago, but still glad you're making it available

It's like you read one of my recent posts and decided to do exactly what I requested :)

I would like all of it.. I still have your pipe just sitting in storage waiting install so having these extra goodies would be a huge help. How much for exhaust adapter, water neck spacer and hardware/gaskets as a package?

then I am definitely interested since the CS downpipe is still up in the air right now. Just gotta save up some more funds

Over the last year I've half heartedly looked into all three of these things, I just never really followed through. (Kids and work have kept me busy enough that I didn't or couldn't make it a priority) I decided I couldn't ignore it any longer and I just have to get it done. I had already sent in payment for AMM status and was just waiting on approval when I saw your post. It was great edification, because if potential customers were thinking the exact same thing I knew I was on the right track.

Tom, When should we expect to see the waterneck spacer finished?

I'm shooting to have one on a car within a week or so. As long as its good to go they should be on my website within about two weeks.

I've been working on getting everything together so that I can do one bigger update on the site rather than several litte one. But here is what I know so far:

The spacers are costing me about double what I expected them to so the price is going to be closer to $35 shipped - Its a bit of a bummer and I'm working on bringing the price down, but thats as low as I can go for now. The upside is that they will be 304SS so they can polish up nicely and will last and look great. I should have the test part in my hands by Wednesday and on a car ASAP. Expect them to hit the site at the end of next week. If you know you want reply to this thread with a numbered list so I can make sure I get enough in on the first order so that nobody has to wait.

The hardware package is a work in progress. I can very easily put it together at around $30, but I really feel it should be cheaper than that so I'm still looking for a hardware vendor that I can get better pricing from.

The reducer is something I may just fab up on an as needed basis, but I have contacted Grimspeed to see if they offer any wholesale discounts. Either way the pricing should be held to around $40.

Water neck spacer like the one I made? I was going to make a few more but guess I don't anymore ;P haha, but mine is machined out of AL so it weighs nothing and holds up fine. But I'm in for the hardware kit maybe depending on the quality. :)
