What have you done to your MSP today?

walked out of Stop N Shop and there was a huge F*ing dent on my fender! thats GAY! Engine lights on again.. Flickers for a min then turns solid and then turns off after 50 miles.... Just got the O2 sensor replaced 2 weeks ago and they said thats what was cousing the miss fires, could it be because the spark plugs need to be replaced? or somthing elts maybe? does it like ever other few days....

check plugs.. then coil packs.. if that doesn't work check your cam sensor

mine did that twice in the last month, first time it was because the PVC hose line that goes to the IM slipped off, I guess the zip tie broke at some point, and it caused the plugs to foul up real bad.. and the 2nd time I noticed that my fuel rail was really loose, so I tightened it up and was good to go.. check all your hoses, and make sure everything is tight, especially since it's misfiring could be like mine which was the fuel rail was a little loose from all the vibrating, and just change the spark plugs anyways, they are cheap and it will be good to change them

Thanks for the input, ill have to check all my hoses first thing before i head out in the morning. My spark plugs came in yesterday, so i picked them up at AutoZone, just need to put them in as well. (NGK 1colder)

err why does my 02 sensor have to act like its on the frits before my dp install!!!! P0131 how I hate you!

That's what my issue was p0131. And I found that the primary amd secondary o2 signal wires are spliced together by another wire.. I cut the splice n am currantly using the aem uego output wire for the primary o2 signal n no more p0131.

This is what mine looked like

You know, I keep posted on these forums because I love this place but partially, I love reading all the issues that come with the MSP's and knowing I don't have to worry about my damned P2006 code anymore. :D Thanks for cheering me up!

Also, Bizness, contradictory to what I literally JUST typed... you want my nice payment and my 21 mpg at best...? :D

I hope thats not my issue and you would think it would of came up in the past 70k+ miles. My original 02 sensor went kaput and was shot just by looking at it. So I purchased a used one and got roughly 30k on it for 25 bucks. So I can't complain on that one and thankfully the price of our main 02 sensor dropped by 75 bucks since the last time i went shopping for them.

Yesterday my turbo started sounding different in boost. Nomally it has a high pitched whistle and now when its in full boost it whistles but then the pitch lowers and sounds different. I know its not good for a turbo to make any noise other than a high pitched whistle so I am hoping my original 111k mile turbo isnt starting to fail on me. It boosts and accelerates fine it just doesnt sound the same, it just started doing it yesterday.

Any turbo experts care to tell me if I should start looking for new turbos now?

Saw a blue MP3 today at Mcdonalds. He didn't know about this site though.

I saw a spicy MSP with an 03.5 catback last night on 6th street, same one I saw last week. They must not be members either.

check your oil levels, if your low it can cause the sound to change. Also that is alot of miles for a turbo, it could be on it way out.

did you ever change the oil return O ring? They leak often.

Another test is take off your intake and wiggle the shaft on the inlet of the turbo, if there is alot of play your bearings are bad.

3" dp + 3" midpipe = to much flow.. = boost creep = zoom zoom boom

I was spikign aroudn 7/8psit and settling around 5/6psi before the 3" dp and well now if I keep on it i can hit 11psi and then some if i let it... but on low rpms it stays at 7/8 psi untell i really dog it and it climbs freakign quick!!!

I guess its time for a new exhaust mani and external wastegate.

I just changed the oil but I will add a little anyway. I do need to replace the return O ring, and I have checked for shaft play before, not recently though. The compressor wheel moves a little back and forth but no more than about 1-2mm either way and not at all side to side.

its naturally has some shaft play and from the distant yours saying it doest seem to be too bad. The O ring is like 3 bucks from the dealer, kind easy to change.

If you have long skinny arms and fingers its easy, two 6mm allen bolts hold it in place, i found getting a 6mm socket for a 3/8" ratchet make is alot easier to do. The pain in the ass part is getting the bolts back in.

also maybe you have a boost leak....

Its easy to change if you don't have a 3 inch dp......then the s*** sucks. Specially where it mmeets the main bearing support plate.

Im Havering kind of a weird issue. While I drive, the voltage reader on my tt creeps down.0.1 volts at a time. When I crank the car up in the am it starts at 14.2v. On a long drive yesterday it got down to 12.9v. It stayed right there around 12.9-13.1 for my several hour drive. Now after talking to some other protege peeps they said it was probably my alternator. Which was likely since I put about 97k Miles the one I bought almost 3 years ago. So I dropped $140 on a new one(brother works at pep boys ftw) and nothing changed. The alt is good, the battery is good. Any thoughts?

So I've noticed that my wideband has occasionally been reading 19.9 when I let off the throttle instead of 20.0 and sometimes it will bounce back and forth between those two numbers. Any clue what this means? It is normally supposed to just flash 20.0 when coasting.

i dont think it would make changin it any harder, as far as the volts..... no clue haha, i hate electrical s*** so best of luck

yep its completely normal.... 19.9 and 20.0 are almost the same number. When you left of the throttle there is very little gas being put into the system thats all and that is what your wibeband is seeing.
