G-series 5sp Transmission: Complete Teardown & Rebuild w/LSD & 5th Gear Swap

also i started to organize the steps but with my add it is only a matter of time before i get bored of uploading 3-5 pictures at a time plus as you can see theres a bunch of steps. but as long as people keep bugging me i will keep organizing it

Please, please continue organizing them! My rebuild is on hold until I can see the step-by-step pictures.
Thanks for your help. If it's too much PITA to organize them, please let me know. Perhaps just a list
of which pictures go with which steps would be easier?

he has them in order.. only a few that he can't figure out where they go.. it's really not so hard

allright it is done. as you read through the write up there will be numbers that i put in to represent which step it is. if you go to this link and scroll down on the right side there will be 45 subfolders 44 of them are the steps and one named extra are extra pictures i had not sure where they go. im not sure when i will get a chance to actually put them in here cuz that will just be time consuming so this will have to do for now

oh and one more thing when you click on one of the subfolders just look at the name of the picture and you can see what order they went in. (the lower number came first)
example in folder "step 6" the order and names of the pictures are as follows
(tranassy017.jpg) (g_lsd_arrow_016.jpg) (g_lsd_arrow_015.jpg)
the pictures should actually be in numerical order so it should be
(g_lsd_arrow_015.jpg) (g_lsd_arrow_016.jpg) (tranassy017.jpg)

i hope this helps

+1 on getting the pic fixed. The album is great, but it is hard to decipher back and forth. For me, anyway.

allright i put pictures back in the first five steps and i will try to do at least 5 steps a day but i am going on vacation from the 20-28 so i dont know how much i will get done there

^exactly.. also make sure you take your time and take your own pix.. wouldn't wana end up misplacing something or what not

allright im back from vacation and unfortunatley i didnt get anything done because i couldnt connect to the internet. and now its not letting me edit the first post so im just gonna post it allover again

allright the rest is finally up. except for step 32 because i dont know what pic goes there but if i figure it out i will put it in

This ring fell out of the case, i think, when i pulled it apart, do you know where it goes? Also, looking at the differential i pulled out (non LSD, original) the speedo gear does not appear to be modified and the carrier bearing has a gap between it and the speedo gear. Looking at the LSD that I will be installing, the shaft where the speedo gear and carrier bearing mount seems to be the same length and there are the same two recesses as the one mentioned in the last sentence, So why should the speedo gear be filed?

im not positive where that ring goes but a quick look though the pictures i saw this. at the top of the shaft the guy is holding there is a ring so check to see if you still have that ring

Now we can remove the secondary shaft. Lift and tilt the differential, then tilt and pull up on the secondary shaft to remove it. Pay close attention to any washers or rings and keep them in the proper order.

as for the shaft on the differential looking the same. all i know is that the person who did this thread was using the transmission from a ford probe and i used the transmission from a mazda mx6 and the differential looked different for me. maybe mazda made the newer differentials for the p5 to be more like the lsd? for that question you would be better off asking someone who put an lsd into there p5
