What have you done to your P5 today?

My spoiler in good shape.....it was repainted last year....but the valence is blah and I hate looking at those mirror covers.....best paint to use?

Was thinking of finding a place that will make up some rattle cans of auto paint....I'm gonna go for a satin black.....I hate gloss black on car and I've like how all the satin has turned out on my interior and the intake mani

I think satin would look good as well. Having a gloss mirror next to the satin-ness of the rest of the mirror and the trim around the doors wouldn't look right.

For just the mirror covers, I'd just look for some rattle can stuff. Should be fine on areas that small. Maybe have to respray them once a year if they fade/get crappy. I'm probably going to base/clear mine, only because I'm doing the spoiler as well. Gonna get a matte clear that gives it a satin finish insead of gloss.

I found on my intake I did a satin black with a matte clear.....it sparkles....but only slightly.....its Purdy when clean

Nice!

And, I'm putting the p5 on the road today! Heading to Sam's Club, the grocery store, drop off rent check, obedience class, and dinner later.

Today I attempted to fix the front crossbar on my rack, and in doing so realized how brittle the plastic trim covers had become! Thanks a lot UV rays...

Anyone know of a location to find snazzy new ones???

Not today but yesterday....thought I'd take ten minutes to change plugs and narrow down this 'potential' fuel issue. Well remvoed the first coil pack and when it came out I knew something was not good....the damn boot at the bottom tore off and was still around the spark plug. So after a few four letter words I removed the other three and then called the local AZ. Well they only had one but another store about 10 miles away had one in stock as well. Was running up that way anyway with Tam to run some errands so between said errands we stopped at two AZs and I got two coil packs and a pair of 11" pliers. Came home and proceeded to pull the rubber boot out of the 'cylinder'. Good ol' Murphy....of course it didn't come out in one piece. lol

Pics of old plugs

Josh...congrats on a job well done! Oh...found the guy that will do my rust repair. He also did the body work after my accident. Quoted me $500-$700 fix the quarter panel and rockers and said another $100 or so for the engine bay.

WTF....I had to go to 2 AZ's to get my coils too! I don't think they know that these motors take....TWO coils. bastards

And that's not bad to fix the rust! Just make sure you know what you're getting for that money. I'd hate for you to be expecting top notch work, only to find out the guy just whacked and packed it.

I know but it worked out. The wife and I were driving up towards the second AZ anyway to run some errands.

Yeah not bad at all and I know it will be done better than Maaco. He mentioned cutting the panel and welding a new piece in and then re-painting the bad area above the bumper thru the entire arch over the wheel down to the rocker. Sanding/grinding of the rear rocker area and paching then painted. The engine bay, he'd cut the bad area out and seam weld a plate in and paint. He did tell me a pretty nifty trick too that he has used on his car with great success. He squirts some oil in the 'tube' that runs along the bottom of the inner door panels and at the quarter panels he will open the rear door and drill a hole in the area that will lead to the area where the wheel arch is. He then squirts in oil...says the oil will repel the water from sitting inside the panel and prevent rust. Again...he said he's done it on his cars and it's worked....your thoughts?

Wait, it doesn't? lol That's when you know it's time to start shopping at another parts store or simply avoid that associate on ALL later visits!

Let mine sit in the rain for Nature's Bath while I was getting work done on Amy's Jeep. Almost bought this from Advance Auto to try it out on the P5:

Also saw a yellow P5 that had some very tasteful exterior mods done while leaving the theater last night (went to see fast five)... pics later.

What kind of oil? Just, regular motor oil? lol

The manager at work mentioned me putting oil in the doors and rocker of that F-150, but I have no idea what he meant. I was just going to squirt in some inner panel rustproofing...it's like a yellow, thick, goop.
