The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

That P5 looks solid as hell Josh. Nice purchace. As far as the part out goes, don't be afraid to low ball the prices if you can that will ensure a quick sale. Good luck with her, it is a her right? Gotta give the car a name or it will treat you badly lol. I named my 3 Martha haha.

Haha...I'll have to come up with something then.

And that's another concern of mine, pricing the items right. I have no clue what they're worth, or even what the ARE! (as far as brand names go) I asked him to make out a complete mod list for the car, but I'm not sure if he did or will. I just don't want to be at a meet like..."Nice p5, what all do you have done to it?" me ~ "I dunno...I bought it this way." ghey....

I want a quick sale, but I don't want to GIVE the stuff away either. I'd at least like to get around $1500 for it all, to cover the motor (<$1000) and the trip to get the car (<$500), but I'd still be happy if it just covered the motor. It'd be absolutly GREAT to sell it all as one complete kit, but it seems everytime someone tries this, there are 15 posts from people only wanting a part or 2.

^^^I'll take take the strut bar and oil cap if you sell those pieces^^^
(maybe even the manifold if you don's sell the turbo as a kit)

If the funds start stalling out from all the turbo parts, I might start looking to sell some of the cosmetic stuff to continue to recoupe the motor cost. I'll just have to play it by ear for now...

if you need 2.5" or 3" piping I've got you covered and couplers and clamps

I think in total the length is 2ft.. 1ft forward, 75 degree bend and another foot left. Even less if I get a long filter. I guess I need to start pricing filters...

Yeah that's it. I'm sure we could even get less bend in the pipe as well for straighter flow. I'd like to get another 8" filter like I had for the Speed and we could try and figure out a way to make a shield for it.

Heck, I might still have a shield lying around somewhere. I've got all kinds of pieces and parts in totes in my closet. I didn't see any sensors on your intake, that'll make things much easier.

I was looking at filters and didn't know what size to get.. but basically I can get whatever size, just has to match the piping we're gonna use. Is 3" sufficient or do you think I should go bigger?

Only thing it looks like it would need is a hose outlet.

Hmm, I only made it down the street in the test drive because it was making a dragging metal noise, which got louder with speed, but was still present with it out of gear. I think it was the brake dragging because it was pretty tight, and took a tiny bit of force to get the caliper and pads over the rotor after I bled the system. I mean the brakes don't really retract a whole lot, they just kind of sit right next to the rotor, at least that's how I understand the system. I'll try it again tomorrow without worrying about waking up my neighbors. If it was just the brake dragging, I would take it up to speed and let it wear off the rust, but at this point I don't have the confidence that it's not a different problem...

Stupid question, but did you force the caliper cylinders back a bit before installing the new pads n such?

I'll have a stock mani hopefully by the end of the weekend available.

Jasen, I think the hose outlet just goes to the crank case so you could just get a tiny filter for that. Like in the pics of the p5

Good afternoon...Wes, I'm going to go with Chris' thinking about pushing them in further.

Saw the pain mgmt specialist yesterday and next week I start my ESIs (epidural steroid injections). My C4 and C5 discs are bulging which is causing my pain/discomfort/etc

Okay cool. I can get the filter for about 50 bucks.. so is the piping and mounting hardware really worth the extra 220?
