The Moderately Low (Not Slammed) and Functional Thread

i doubt thats going to get you any lower at all lol
your on skunk2's and your all the way down? that's hard to believe, they should go alot lower then that

and why does everybody say go to the slammed thread for questions like that?
You guys are obviously lowered (not much but still lower), and this is the functional thread so most of you should have coilovers
im sure you can answer his questions

Many of us don't have coilovers, and those that do aren't as low as possible. Why wouldn't I tell someone to talk to them for advice. Problem is most of them would have some sort of smart ass answer for a "dumb question." Nothing against them, of course.

Coilovers aren't required for functionality. Hell, my P5 is a grocery getter that hauls my bikes around, as well as other stuff. That's it's functional purpose.

maybe because you slammed thread folks know about going lower?

i agree that they may know better. functionally low means you are probably working within the normal capacities of your springs/struts/coilovers/suspension. a lot of the slammed guys are augmenting these things in order to go beyond what they are initially designed to do. if you've reached the end of the threads on your coilovers and want to go lower ask the slammed boys...

edit- aralliius, don't know if you are talking about me... but i'll say thanks anyway!

lol I asked because I'm pretty high up, three inches off the ground. And my tires are very meaty so I was thinking about switching to 40 instead of 45. My ksports don't go very low..

are you sure? i have a friend with k sports...and he is lower then you, and still has a decent amount of room left
got any pics of the suspension the way it sits now?

thats probably the safest way to go lower... but 3" off the ground I wouldn't call "pretty high up"... maybe thats just me.

wait a sec...i had desync confused with the other guy, my bad
ignore the post up there about the dude being lower...

and where are you measuring this 3" from? subframe? pinchweld?

well yeah I'm pretty sure they can go lower justanothermp5. Thing is mine are the second gen kontrols and as much as I like the minor changes and updates I hate now they moved the sway bar endlink connection to this black bar that is around the shock body, I'll take a picture of what I'm talking about. It is in the way and taking a whole inch of thread, not to mention this design is kinda flimsy in my opinion. It locks by a tiny allen screw... And i've had it ome lose before. Broke my endlink and damaged my sway bar

I am 3 inches off the ground from the exhaust pipe-_- I'm raked right now but I know I can go lower in the rear, I just want the front to go lower first because I want to keep my 1/4 inch rakeness

Thanks, the wheels have grown on me as well. I will probably get the red redone in black soon and I will be getting coil-overs soon as well.
