Hood Adjustment

In a few days I am going to be removing my grill for upper lip painting and a new horn install. While I am at it, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for adjusting the hood latch so that the front edge of the hood sits more flush with the grill and headlights.

I have adjusted the rubber stops underneath the hood to keep it from rattling (with my mount inserts in the cold it was getting annoying) but now there's a gap between the hood and the grill/headlights, and I want to adjust the latch so that it pulls the hood down a bit, closing the gap. Anyone ever done that or have any suggestions?

You can move the latch down slightly by loosen the three 10mm bolts on it. Be careful when tightening them as they can snap easily, do not over tighten. You may find it hard to latch the hood however if you have the rubber stops raised too much.

It can certainly be lowered some, screw down the rubber bumpers and adjust the latch downward. However....

1. Stock intake breathes through that crack, so you might not want to close it off unless you have a CAI or other intake..

2. Lowering the front to close the gap may make the hood misalign visibly with the fenders.

Misalignment on long parallel metal edges is very easy to see. My guess is that if you lowered the hood enough to close the front gap it would make the hood look funny next to the fenders.

Thanks for the feedback everyone...I do have a CAI, so #1 isn't an issue. As for 2, I see the misalignment already in the parallel edges, and this is one of the reasons I want to undertake this. It's not radical by any means, but I am anal about this kind of stuff...thanks!

are the fenders adjustable? cuz my hood is adjusted all the way down on the pass. side, yet it still sits bout an 1/8 in. above it
