Cobb AP Discussion Thread

Can someone take a look at this log. I reflashed the cobb stock map cause i was getting high value knock on a stage 1 93 oct flash. So this is just part of a long log that is a 4th gear pull on the cobb stock map. Wanted to know if this low Kr at WOT is a problem. Also saw other knock in the same log as high as 2.8 on the stock map. This is the first time i've logged any amount of knock at WOT. Thanks

Alright bova. I never really worried about small amounts showing up, but that was the first WOT knock i'd seen. I reloaded the stage1 93 map and getting the same high values as before. (saw 4.2 today on the way to work) Guess I'm just gonna make sure all my vacuum lines, intake connections, etc are tight, and try to forget about paying attention to that variable. Everything else I've logged has looked fine. Thanks

Guys, I need some help ajusting my map to hold the boost better. I'm spiking at 20 but before I hit 6k it's tapered off to 13.5 and I know it's supposed to stay aroung 16.5. How can I get the boost to hang on till 6k? Or could it be my bpv not holding it, I'm running yellow w/2shims in the Forge? Thanks!

Look at your load table to see if thats the root. The next would be the wastegate duty cycles table.

these are the two tables that caused me grief when i knew nothing about the ap, i still know little haha.

anyone know how to download launch control with the ap?

Info directly from Cobb Tuning :
Configure LC & FFS:
-Use AP Manager to transfer map from AccessPORT to PC or download map from the Online Map Database
-Open AccessTUNER Race and load map to be modified
-Set desired Launch Control and Flat Foot Shift settings according to the updated instructions in the Tuning Guide and save map
-Transfer map to AccessPORT using AP Manager

you have to use the Limiter Tables in AccessTuner Race software. This is some info. Theres more on cobbtuning.com

Thanks bud, whats your load tables look like? I decreased my WGD cycles down a bit and it helped some, boost hangs on tight till 5k now, I just decreased the the cycles down further from 5-6k, I'll do another log soon and see if that does it.

.7 is nothing. Did you fill up at a different gas station recently? Was it hot out that day? Next time log BATs, as high BATs will cause more log. Even if it wasn't THAT hot out... if you were putting around town and sitting at lights before you went wot, your BATs will be high. Not sure of your mods, and I'm already replying and too lazy to look, but when I had the stock tmic, my BATs hit 160F on a 65 degree day as I was cutting through the city w/ lights, etc.. never getting above 40 mph really. Stock map sucks btw

I'm running the Stage1+SF+93-V105 map with CobbSF, TIP,Denso's ITV22, ForgeBPV, test pipe and stock catback.
I often get peaks at 22psi and then boost steady at 18.5-19 at WOT....
Are those numbers fine or the boost should be lower ?
Any suggestions ?

Thats a tad high, should spike to 20 and settle around 17-18. You can decrease your load tables to get it down at the given rpm in each gear.

Don't drop the Load, just do a "small" decrease on the WGDC. The lower WGDC will slow the WGA response and help bring down the spike without affecting the Load. If you drop the Load target the ECU will drop the overall boost level and resulting power.

i have my load set like this and never get any spikes, ramp it up slowly. here is my 3rd gear example:

atr.webp

my load tables look almost exactly like bova's, but i have a little lower overall load with a faster pick up right at the 3000-3500 rpm mark. i now spike 20 psi and hold 19. i should lower it down but i rarely drive my car hard enough to reach full boost.

Here's my TRL table for my K04 setup with boost-based tuning. With Loads set this high with OEM turbo, the ECU will run the boost targets table.....

Thank you everybody for their input , it is really appreciated !!
What about KR ? Sometimes I get numbers around 2.45 at 6000Rpm ?! Is it normal, is there any solution to limit Knock ?

Ivan

since the knock sensor goes deaf around 5500-5700rpms you can't really have knock around there. if it is partial throttle knock there is no worries as its just the ecu adjusting for max fuel efficiency. if its at WOT then anything over 2 is a problem.

And performance.. 10 percent ethanol is harder to burn than pure unleaded.. Unless your car is specifically tuned then you wont make more power will you.. In fact it will hamper performance its about Emissions is it not
Thats why when you go to E-85 you need larger injectors and $%$% because it requires more of it.. At least thats what the supra guys tell me

Is there a way to specifically tune for a VTA application with the race tuner software? LIke something along the lines of a decel feature?
