What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

I went out and test drove a used one with a local guy on here and didn't find it comfortable. I'm all about a sporty car, but for someone who might be settling down with a family, that car is about as useless as it comes (speaking of him, not me).

I don't know, you're spending an awful lot of money on something that is entirely built for track duty. They put most of their eggs in that basket, and not much else.

I guess that's where I disagree. It's not entirely built for track duty. An Evo with SSL has all of the creature comforts that an MS6 has, save for a little less sound deadening material. Heated seats, sunroof, leather, AC standard, cruise control, etc. etc.

I agree it's not an ideal family mans car, but isn't Qwik young? As far as enjoyment goes my Evo was farrrrr and above more fun to drive compared to my MS6 (not that it isn't fun to drive, but the Evo is just on another level).

The problem is though, once you taste the raw power outside of the MS6, it's really hard to be happy.

That said, I would still love to keep the MS6 as a all-season DD. But, right now I can only afford one toy. Maybe down the road I'll pick up another one or an MSP for a DD car.

EXACTLY my sentiments. i wouldnt disagree with Steve at all however, i agree with both, as i think both your opinions don't actually clash.

when you say "save for a little" less creature comforts"... i think that long list that follows isnt simply "a little" keke? But as you said, those factors shouldnt be the deciding factor for a young driver, it only really affects slightly older, or family type people. I am slightly older so i didnt want a lack of cruise control of all things!... and ofc wanted my plush interior with decent amount of power when i wanna have fun. :D

all in all, i dont think you guys really disagree at all! haha.
same page, different story? (spank)

I guess my beef with the Evo is this. You pay $35k+ for something with no options, and upwards of $40k or more for a decently equipped model in comparison to the rest of the market. Not to mention that you've got very little usable trunk space, no folding seats, and a pretty vanilla interior aside from a nice set of seats. And, on top of that, it's smaller in size than the MS6.

I would rather spend $35k on a 335i CPO vehicle and have the comfort, and keep it a little more understated. Make sure you get the cold weather and sport packages, but that's really all you'ed need.Again, personal opinion.

mmmm that is a nice purdy white car you found taylor, i myself have ridden in one and would buy it. i mean common as soon as you put an exhaust and motor mounts on the 6 who cares about comfortable, cuz its loud and unless you set your idle higher it vibrates sitting still.

taylor i may have a buyer for you. and considering your car is well documented on here, he may very well buy it. ill email you later tonight.

aye im kinda the same way in terms of cost vs value. for that price, id have gotten an audi. :)

boostedspd6, that makes me smile that the qwik car may stay in good hands, assuming ur friend aint a ricer... lol :p

nope hes the exact oppoiste of that and would probably do a huge build like me.

ohh and my car is now offically running, its outside my window idling right now.

hehe test drive.

be back.

I'm w/Steve, drive a 335i, they're ***** bone stock w/an auto tranny. Evo's ehh, not for me any way.
Qwik, PM me w/that vin and your email and I'll hook up the car fax.

so i ran the test fairly conservative compared to the limits of the turbo, i had it at 18psi id say 27-32psi would be my race tune, mind you this is a GTK-500 not a K04 boost isnt fully kicked in till about 4000rpm, scared the s*** outta me.

i dont get full 100% traction till mid 2nd gear on street tires, gotta fix that. although the car still moves, in order to run low 12's high 11's or better :) at the track im going to need slicks.

but man. its EPIC. much too fast to ride around town with.

no issues so far, was alittle worried about the axles and transmission

Yes I am young. lol. I'm 23 on friday. I have had the speed6 since I turned 19. Before that I had a dodge stealth.

Thanks Boosted! I would much rather my car go to some1 who can appreciate it and want to do more with it.

Yes that white evo is pretty. I am kinda concerned since it is only 24k and have 26k miles on it. I need to check carfax to be certain as most I have seen in this price have been in a front end wreck.

The 335i's are fast? I thought only the m series were to be taken seriously. But wouldnt a bmw be expensive to work on? I will pm you tonight with the vin. Thanks a lot!

Yea...sell it Taylor so I can buy your parts.

lol. I would much rather sell my car as is with all the parts I have laying around in the garage and be done with it. Time for a new project car. This car has been great. I never thought I would have done this much to it. but once I started I couldnt stop!

If I do get the evo I will put some new wheels on it. Coil-overs. Window tint. And probably the AP & intake. And call it a day. I would hate to go with a fwd or rwd car. I love the awd.

.

Ah, I thought you were even younger than that. I had my Evo when I was 22-24 (I'm 26 now).

They're quick. They wouldn't beat an Evo (stock vs. stock) in the straight line or the track. Also, if you get the AWD version its not a true AWD system. There are some fast 335's out there with mods, but no one is making big hp (yet).

The 335i's are very fast, do some research, they're not far off the M's #'s wise. They're more expensive to mod but it won't need much I'm telling ya. May be under stated. I was sold on them after I drove my friends. It's a car you could keep for a while.

A little over 5 seconds to 60 and a mid to high 13 quarter mile run....they're definitely quicker than the outgoing 330's.

lol

Not rich....I worked 30ish hrs a week during college (which was near free through scholarships and what not) as a valet supervisor at a nice hotel.
