WTB: 2003.5 MSP Clean cars only please.

Not open for further replies.
Looking to see what is out there for 2003.5 MSP's for sale. My girlfriend is looking for a car and I think this would be perfect for her. Good daily driver and good for her to autocross as well.

Looking for one with 60-75K miles on it. Non-smoker, no stains, no dents, no huge scratches. Just an overall clean car with good maintenance.

Can be modded but not modded by a monkey. Clean and correct mods. Looking for stock HP levels with maybe good suspension mods, not ricer Tien junk.

Let me know if you have anything.

prez, if your big into the autoX scene the MSP is for you. it handles like a dream on wheels, probably one of the top 2 FWD handling cars in all motor/size.

i compete in the SCCA autoX events here in the Cedar Rapids surrounding area, i always finish in the top 3-5 in my class. and im just on stock suspension...

SI's in iowa will all be rusted out or a ricer POS fyi.

im not sure if its stock or not because its ran to well for me to find out.
i bought it from a dealer and you think they would tell you that or not? if so, your mistaken..

i also bought it with a south carolina title..

Really, ricer? You drive a Mazda right? While we all know Ford has a majority stake in the company; Mazda has always been know for it's "ricer" roots.

Not knowing if it is stock or not and then mentioning it might be built are two different things. Based on that alone I would never buy a car from you as you have ZERO clue as to what you are talking about. This car is for my GF who doesn't know how to pick up a wrench. She does know how to pick up the phone and call me though, which means I want something that will give me ZERO phones calls. I don't like picking up wrenches unless they are for my own cars. Your car doesn't sound like that would be the case. Sorry.

prez there is always a better way to go than a civic si. you can just buy a "highly modded" protege and sell aftermarket parts you dont want and buy stock replacements and pocket the extra cash. but id hardly call the blue one highly modified

While yes you/I/we can buy a "highly modded" protege and sell the parts that does me no good. I have to pick up a wrench and as I recently spoke about I don't like doing that unless it's "my" car. Where are the stock parts? Who is going to give me back the hours of my life I wasted returning it to stock? I can appreciate a nicely modded car. But I can also appreciate an owner more who can include every single stock part as well, which most cannot.

I agree the blue one is not highly modified. But, the price is completely out of range with what I am seeing on forums or in the big blue sky. I'm more than willing to fly to one of the coasts and bring back a complete stock and clean MSP for the normal going rate than buy one that is overpriced in my backyard. They don't want to hear that? That's fine don't click the link back into this thread. They can sell it to someone else, I am completely fine with that.

Actually, if it were me and I could do it all over again, I would of probably gotten the Si...

Agreed I owned an 09 SI sedan for just under a year and loved the car. It handled great and was a great car, but I traded it off for my third evo. The SI would be absolutely perfect for the girl and she can still autocross it and drive it in several inches of snow.

A MSP also though is a great car at a cheaper price tag (due to it's year) which is also important to her, that is why I am here looking.

Had a MSP the other day in which I was a day late on contacting that has, sway bars, stock otherwise, 68K miles, 1 set of summer tires, 1 set of winter tires, all for $7500, and in perfect shape. Another one will come along, thought I would see if that was here or not.

Iowa chapter? Never seen you at an Osky event, Newton event, or Marshelltown with the Iowa region. I'm dual region member with DMVR and Iowa, and in the last three years can't recall running into a blue MSP at any events.

Wish I could make Hawkeye downs event this weekend. I'll be sure to look for pictures of your car out there though when they get posted on the local boards.

for 1, im sorry if they stealerships dont lay out the time-line for everycar you purchase. i was just stating facts, to the best of my knowing the car is on a stock motor, but it could be built idk. any why would you b**** about that? a car might have a built motor and you think thats bad? i wash/fix every little squeek on my car dude.

2nd, learn to pick up a f'n wrench man, it takes what? 10 mins to put on/take off an intake on the MSP. it looks like you drive an evo, and your telling us you dont like to work on cars?!

3rd, mazda is not known for rice....? if you think mazda is known for rice, have fun with honda. (stooges)

4th, my car is NOT overpriced. go to mazda and ask them how many 03.5 MSP's are still on the roads. and you'd have to fly to the coasts cuz there are NONE in our area. 8k is a very reasonable price for how clean my car is, and in our area i bet i could sell it for around 10k if i wanted to. but i dont want to sell it, but for the right price everything is for sale...

if you want a 5-6k MSP then good luck to you, and have fun with the major issues you buy into. Have fun with that, you'll spend those 2-3k you save on a new motor! (evil)

lastly, I just picked up my MSP 5 months ago, so i dont think you would have seen it at many events over the years lol. i used to race my dads 350z with him. sometimes i would take my 99 camaro if i felt like it. and the event a few weeks ago at the downs was awesome. it was on the track.. 1 time around the 1/4 mile then weave then turn around and around the 1/2 mile. it was nice.

oh btw, 5 months ago when i bought my car...it had 109k.

the stealership was asking 9.5k, the car needed brakes all around and rear calipers.
i got the car for 8,550 with me doing the brakes. spent 500 on brakes and done.

since then i've replaced everything that is known to be bad on the MSP.

just remember, you get what you pay for.

Sounds like prez is kind of a tire kicking jackass. He's been on these forums, and knows what is on here, then bugs out at all the cars offered because they're not 100 percent bone stock, and because he should probably go with a hondar si, even though the two vehicles are on different levels. This thread is worthless.

Thad.

This A**hole comes on here and hate on mazda owners. Then talks about not wanting to pick up a wench.. "BUT HE DRIVES AN EvOO" These things break more than they run.. Then talks about hondaa.. They have way more Honda's out there with fart cans & intakes that make up the ricer community "about 95%" than any other car on the planet.. Other than most people on here I'm the original owner on my msp. I have done all my mods myself with 0 problem. Well nothing to complain about. s*** ware out so even with a stock car you will still have to pick up a wrench even with a hondaa... Our just buy a new car & carry it the stealaship.. Then pay way more than the wrench cost.. Get off your lazy ass!!!

Check your facts again... majority stake... hardly.

then you cannot buy a car. Cars require maintenance.

A lot of us can.

If you want a mint car, you pay a premium. Mint cars that are 8 years old are few and far between, now you're talking about a a limited edition tuner car, that is both mint AND unmodified. I picked mine up 2 years ago unmodified, and I'll bet mine is one of the last 200 or so not to be tinkered with. (So much for that! LOL)

Agreed I owned an 09 SI sedan for just under a year and loved the car. It handled great and was a great car, but I traded it off for my third evo. The SI would be absolutely perfect for the girl and she can still autocross it and drive it in several inches of snow.
same goes for the MSP... but either is a fine choice depending
A MSP also though is a great car at a cheaper price tag (due to it's year) which is also important to her, that is why I am here looking.
valid, and fair... but see my statement above.
Had a MSP the other day in which I was a day late on contacting that has, sway bars, stock otherwise, 68K miles, 1 set of summer tires, 1 set of winter tires, all for $7500, and in perfect shape. Another one will come along, thought I would see if that was here or not.
sounds like a decent deal. GL

You guys clearly cannot read.

I said I don't like to work on cars that are not mine.

I don't like picking up wrenches unless they are for my own cars
See that? READ. Good lord. I spent last night on the ground for 2 hours working on my cargo van and didn't mind a second of it. Why? It's mine! I have 4 cars I can use if something breaks so I can take time and get it done. If something happens to the GF's car she doesn't have anything else to drive and I have to drop everything to fix it or give her one of mine to drive. I'm pretty busy and that is hard to do sometimes.

Perhaps I came in expecting to much, as it turns out I clearly did.

As far as the blue car, yeah it's clean, and yeah it looks up her ally; but again it's to much money for the miles. SORRY IT IS! I know our opinions differ on this. I'm OK with that. You clearly are not and butt hurt over it. I'm okay continueing to look. Thank you for offering it though.

Also for even claiming something you cannot prove 100% is really sketchy. That is like me saying, well the motor in my cargo van has never given me issues so it might be a built motor. See how crazy that sounds?

I don't need to defend my mechanical skills either built plenty of motors and been racing for years. Working on a DD though? Not exactly the most fun. Will I do it? Yep. Would I rather be doing something else though? Yep

I'm not hating on Mazda owners one bit. Have many good friends that own Mazdas.

I know cars require things like blinker fluid (sarcasm), and yes that's completely expected to break a wrench out to do those and I don't mind that at all either. What I do mind is buying something that has been modded and then having to return it to stock form or damn close to it in which I can trust 100% that my GF won't have issues when traveling 5 hours away on a trip or something.

As far as the SI and the MSP being in different class... Yep I covered that too. Saying how the SI is to much money for her right now and that is why the MSP fits in better. Again someone forgetting to read and just spewing words onto the internet.

Also I was wrong ford only had 34% stake in Mazda in 2008 according to Wiki. SORRY...

Anyway thanks guys, I'll go back to my ricer cars.... lol Cracks me up you guys can group one brand of cars into derogatory term. Do you do that with black people to? How about Mexicans?...... see what I am saying?

Mazda has always been know for it's "ricer" roots.
um... (potkettle
I think you should use your words a little more carefully when you go to point fingers.

You have 4 cars, but could not lend one to her if you had to fix hers? huh.. aright, I guess?

I was using it in "ricer" (see the quotes) referring to how someone else had used.... showing that they were actually calling the

. ..... so yeh still not proving your point... lol

Two of the cars I own are cargo vans. Not exactly awesome, unless for hauling crap around or towing things. One is an Accord which she does use when her current car breaks. She had it for a month not to long ago while hers was getting body work done.

She definitely gets the Accord when her's is down but I'd like to not have that situation come up. I like to keep the evo in the garage and not driven in the rain and etc.

ok.. so its wrong when someone else uses a generalization, but when you do the same thing to prove a point, you're right.

Yeah, you'd absolutely fit in better with a civic and evo crowd (can throw in some SRT4s for flavor). in my limited experience their egos match the size of yours closer than the ones you'll run into here.

I'm not defending anyone. I'm pointing out the flaw in your attack. their point may or my not hold water. Yours may or may not as well, and if it does, you're a hypocrit.

Mine was not an attack just trying to show how you cannot generalize a group of people or in this case, cars to a certain term.

I'm just going to put it out there; 03.5BlueMSP was probably joking that he had a built engine because he didn't go zoomzoomboom like so many others have. If he wasn't, then I'm out to lunch on it but that was my first thought when I read his post.
